It comes as no surprise to find that Epic45 grew up - and still reside - in a small rural village in the heartland of the English Midlands.Based around the nucleus of 27-year-old school friends Ben Holton and Rob Glover, Epic45 have had a varied and fluid line-up since their debut in 1999, releasing a series of highly acclaimed EPs and albums for labels such as Bearos, Awkward Silence and Where Are My Records. The band has also received radio airplay from the late John Peel, Steve Lamacq and Verity Sharp.

Inspired by their surroundings, blissful childhood summers and mysterious/inspiring walks, the duo have been making music for more than a decade.

Epic45's last full-length album, 2007's “May Your Heart Be The Map” cemented the band's reputation as purveyors of gorgeous, hazy, atmospheric pop. Described by Word Magazine as “The best English summer album ever”, it displayed Epic45's masterful blending of acoustic and electronic instruments, their subtle use of field recordings to evoke different moods and memories, and glorious, understated vocal harmonies.

The first single from epic45’s new album, Weathering, is a song co-written 
by the band along with Stephen Jones of Babybird. The collaboration came about 
after Stephen saw a Youtube video of epic45 covering the early Babybird track,
‘Losing My Hair’ on a French radio station. Impressed by their cover, he contacted 
the band and after a few email exchanges, they agreed to work together on a track 
for epic45’s new album. 

Stephen lends his trademark falsetto vocals and lyrics to the track and, as with all 
of the other collaborations on Weathering, this was done entirely over the internet, 
with both parties still yet to meet in person.
