After half a year of VGM covers and experimental chiptunes, I decided to bring back FamiTastik and gauge my learnings during these months. Following the spirit of Vol.1, FamiTastik Vol.2 is a collection of stories yet untold and sceneries yet unseen narrated through videogame music.

Music made entirely with Dn-FamiTracker using the VRC6 expansion chip (without using any samples in the DPCM channel) and no post-processing whatsoever, apart from some gentle volume leveling and limiting. The .nsf file containing all of the compiled tracks is included with the album.

Taking a break from the Neo Geo, I decided to make a Genesis tune. I actually started this one before I started making the song Subconscious, but my ideas for making this tune got a little dry at some point, so I made and finished that one while leaving this off to the side. Normally, something like this would cause me to abandon whatever song I'm making, but I was able to continue how I wanted this song to be. I might consider this the "unofficial" sequel to my song Cosmic Pizza. I used some melodies from a song I scrapped sometime in 2018. I also used the YM2612 in a way to make a PSG-esque noise sound by globally tuning the chip to a base frequency lower than what DefleMask normally allows, discovered by Genatari (though something like this was heard in a song from the Genesis version of the 1995 game Demolition Man). Two patches I used here (slightly modified) come from the games Vectorman 1 and 2.
