It’s been approximately one year since our first retro futuristic compilation was released, and as we’ve moved further into the future, it appears we’ve come closer to the 90s, if not even ventured a tiny bit into the 00s. We might even be in the present, if not even the future. Somehow, with one foot still in the 80s.

As our universes collide, it’s hard to tell what is what. Whether you think this is a futuristic take on Eurodance with an 80s twist, Italo Body or Trance, that is totally up to you. You might even throw in a few other musical universes too. Is it EBM, Dark Disco or Indie Dance? We don’t know and we don’t judge you for deciding.

Hailing from Paris, DJ and producer SLTBQ draws inspiration from a captivating blend of enigmatic indie dance with subtle post-punk undertones, dark disco infused with acid sounds, and new wave.

Despite being classically trained in music from a young age, he really had his musical epiphanic moment while discovering the sparking starkness of Joy Division and the ethereal sound of Alan Parsons Project. A musical heritage inspires him, be it behind the decks or into the studio, to craft emotionally charged soundscapes underpinned by powerful beats and engaged basslines.

Lavion, French producer and DJ based in Hossegor, makes his debut on Ulla Records with his EP “Decorporation” !

A true old school synthesizers and drum machines aficionado, and a multi-skilled musician with years of solo and band experiences, he has built himself his own synth space station where he can craft his hypnotizing and driving tunes. 

With this EP, built around the concepts of life, death and the afterlife, he wanted to explore themes that go behind our grasp of reality, such as cosmos, frequencies and energies, traveling endlessly through space and time, and how they’re all linked to our own existences. 

These meditations take the shape of five Italo, EBM, and Trance infused tracks, finely balancing euphoria and nostalgia, wandering from thrilling and colourful bits to dreamy and melancholic atmospheres.
