Instrumentation for the nerds: Macbeth Micromac oscillators running through Manhattan Analogue MA-35 VCF/A, envelopes coming from Make Noise Maths, triggered by Expert Sleepers Silent Way/ES-4. Doepfer A199 spring reverb at end of chain. Percussion- digitized studio drumming recorded to 1/4" tape, accompanying beats programmed in Ableton Live, accompanied by live performances of congas and bongos. INTI (Amazonia mix)

An ambient, sci-fi trip-hop tune made entirely with the modular synthesizer. Percussion utilizes noise from the Macbeth Micromac-r fed through the Amsynth 8060 Jp6 State Variable Filter (highpass, bandpass), modulated with the Amsynth 8705 Roland-style dual ADSR, fed into the Doepfer A131 CA3080 OTA edition w/ upgraded opamp (also modulated by the Amsynth EGs). The pads were also synthesized with the same signal routing, but make use of three Micromac oscillators that were slowly modulated by MFB dual LFO, a gradual delayed vibrato using Maths EG and Doepfer A132-3 VCA to create the delayed onset. There's a lot of reverb from Valhalla VintageVerb and little Doepfer A199 spring reverb as well. All triggered by Expert Sleepers ES-4 running Silent Way in Ableton Live. Each sound was performed live in Ableton and overdubbed.

‘Dvahla’ is the third cassette release from Alpha Mound, a slowing down and a more drifting sound compared to last years ”Mesopic” released by Stålverk Records.
It features auditory representations of ascending/descending in and out of sleep/altered states. It in many ways tries to capture that feeling of ’in between’ (or just crossing over) where the calm lives.
