I began playing music in solitude. Throughout my teenage and early adult years, my room was the only stage I knew. With no teacher to guide me, I spent countless hours exploring and uncovering the world of sound—almost as if the instrument itself were my sole mentor, and I, a devoted student of its silent doctrine. Those years were filled with endless inner journeys during my long commutes to and from university; my headphones became my sanctuary, and music the secret language of my inner world. Even sleep couldn’t interrupt this immersion—notes seeped into the depths of my subconscious and intertwined with my dreams. These years laid the foundation upon which my musical identity would later be born.

Eventually, the urge to perform and experiment pulled me toward underground spaces and collaborations with musicians who, despite their great ambitions, shared a path with no defined professional direction. Those experiences had their moments of brilliance and excitement, yet they were often overshadowed by distractions, misunderstandings, and detours that pulled me away from my true essence.

“Velvet Abyss” is the precise narrative of that transitional period. This piece is the voice of my instrument standing in opposition to pursuits that appeared soft, alluring, and seductive from afar, yet at their core were misguided and misleading. Velvet Abyss is both an admission of the time I lost wandering through unprofessional labyrinths and the beginning of an awakening.

But this story doesn’t end in darkness. The turning point of my journey came when I met my dear friend and fellow artist, Amin Niknam @aminniknam . This collaboration became more than an artistic partnership; it marked the formation of a disciplined and globally oriented path. He opened a gateway to a truly professional realm and broadened my awareness of international standards. Although Velvet Abyss carries a somber tone, it ultimately heralds a rebirth—an escape from everything deceptive and insubstantial, and a step toward a sound that is pure, honest, and uncompromising. This abyss signals the end of an illusion and the beginning of my commitment to the true essence of music.

Rusty Sculpture

The intense emotions, sensory experience including vibrancy of colors, and particular mental state provoked by temporal lobe abnormalities may have contributed to the creation of works of art. Cognitive neuroscience researcher Michael Persinger asserts that stimulating the temporal lobe electromagnetically can cause temporal lobe epilepsy and trigger hallucinations of apparent paranormal phenomena such as ghosts and UFOs. Neurotheologians speculate that individuals with temporal lobe epilepsy, having a natural tendency to experience states of consciousness such as euphoria or samādhi, have functioned in human history as religious figures or shamans.

Epilepsy Injection Device (based London, UK) has been established as duo in 2008 by former members of bands NYIA and Hyperion. All samples, FX effects and some song structures have been created and recorded during before or after attack states of Alan (bass, drum and sampler programming). Unique visions and feelings loaded on his brain while as attacks appear are great inspiration. Together with unusual sonic sense of Mateusz (guitarist) they create extraordinary combination of metal, industrial with experimental touch. It is main reason of band's name choice.

Music of Epilepsy Injection Device has been evolved from regular metal tunes to more and more delicate and melodic states. Debut material named "Consciousness Expansion" has been recorded on December 2010 in Frequency Institute Studio (North London, UK). Album consists 8 compositions created on late 2009 and 2010. First songs have been recorded as well under EP "Technological SIngularity".

Tom, known from Third Degree band, has been joined Epilepsy Injection Device on June 2011 as long wanted vocalist.

Some famous artists who experienced temporal lobe epilepsy: Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Allan Poe, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Philip K. Dick.
