This 3rd Epiphany episode is narrated by our afro soul MULO, a french born, Oslo based, up-and-coming dj who joined our tribe last year.

  MULO has always loved music. He grew up listening to different musical genres, from Reggae to Post Rock, and was especially fascinated by the rhythms in African music. From an early age he learned to play various African percussions, such as djembe, derbuka and dum dum, in addition to drums.
His interest in electronic music came later on through friends but also through visits to various European festivals and clubbing in Berlin. 
In 2016 he bought his first equipment and started mixing at home for himself and for friends. Soon after he was warming up in Fisk og Vilt and Uhørt, in Oslo, Norway with a blend of House, Nu-Disco and Deep House. 
But it was after discovering artists such as Moblack, Hyenah, Blanka Mazimela or Armonica, that he realised that it was possible to combine his passion for deep house and his love for African rhythms.
Today, MULO distils a clever mix of Afro House and Deep House tinted with sparkles of percussions and musical elements from different cultures.

 Blanka Mazimela’s desire to pursue music became a dream come true when he met Ryan Murgatroyd, who not only became his mentor but his inspiration along with that of his father and his brother, to create his sound.
  As Ryan’s protege, Blanka built up his skills and came into his own with his recent release of ‘Phezulu’ on Africa Gets Physical compilation and is set to feature an EP release on the label ‘Get Physical’ in the near future.
  Blanka Mazimela’s unique sound is formed through his use of organic instrumentation and vocals transfused with an electronic element, and performs both live and DJ sets incorporating all these elements of sound.
  Blanka is the content head for Soul Candi’s Institute of Music as well as the head of musical composition. He was previously the head lecturer at Soul Candi’s Institute of Music which has music production courses licensed out to over 30 Boston campuses all around South Africa.
  Blanka collaborated with Crazy White Boy to create a song titled ‘Inthombi’ which is featured on their latest album. His music is making waves both locally and abroad , hard at work in studio with plans for a 2019 European Summer.

Sparrow & Barbossa is a DJ and producer duo formed by the Swiss Bryan Coletta and the Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli; co-owners of Inward Records alongside Pippi Ciez.
Bryan is a pianist and comes from a musical family, his father is the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta who worked with artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra among others.
Emiliano was born and raised in a region of Uruguay dominated by African colonials and got widely influenced by what’s called “The Culture Of Candombe”, pure African tribal rhythm coming from the colonialism.
Since a very young age, Bryan has been influenced by soul, jazz, and funk, which he uses now in his creations with his strong capacity of improvisation and versatility. Emiliano moved to Europe 15 years ago where he con- nected with the music, starting to form his style in the electronic music world, making music together with Chus & Ceballos and Joesky (USA).
Together, Bryan and Emiliano form Sparrow & Barbossa, creating a fusion between organic and electronic pro- gressive sounds. Their age difference has a positive influence on both their releases and performance. While Bry- an brings the freshness of modern sounds and melodies, Emiliano fine-tunes the rhythmic part and brings his knowledge built up throughout the years. Globe-trotters, they’re true lovers of ethnic and lost cultures, devoted to transmit this legacy through electronic music.
Sparrow & Barbossa are most known for their track Yeke that charted number 1 on Beatport afro house together with Enzo Siffredi’s remix. Recently they’ve also released Shakara on Radiant which is has been charted by nu- merous top-notch afro-house players.

MULO’s journey into the world of music has been nothing short of enchanting. Epiphany is a Oslo based, club concept and podcast series focused on mixing quality electronic music of various genres and cultures with the Universe itself to create a mystical and mythical experience manifested into a magical community of love and light beings.
