One of the best things in life is to discover new things. To discover new music and people behind it is a huge favorite of mine and I must say that this mix by Omar Baccouri did not disappoint. This is also the first mix in this mix series made by a person I have never met or seen spin in real life. I think that was the best thing about this mix because I did not know what to expect whatsoever. Omar contacted me a couple of months ago asking if he could do a mix. He told me that he has been living in Sweden for some time now being part of the underground movement in Uppsala and later started to explore the scene in Stockholm. Weird we haven't run into each other but I'm glad we haven't and I am glad this mix is my first impression of him and what he does. This mix is exactly what I needed right now when Sweden is plunging into darkness and Omicron hysteria is at large. This mix came as a warm hug. Very harmonic with soft melodies, sometimes a bit deeper but never losing its focus, a nice amount of percussion (can you get enough percussion?) and ending it all with one of my favorite tracks that is more or less created to paint a sunrise in a world far better then we deserve. Thank you Omar for contacting me, asking me if you could do this mix and then delivered. It's beautiful!
