There is no Tomorrow stands in a special context for me personally. I wrote the basics of the song at the end of 2021 when I returned from a 6-month bike trip through the north of Europe - Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the Faroe Islands. That year and that trip have turned the way I see myself and the world upside down. I made big decisions and decided not to continue my path of that time - it didn't seem to be the place (anymore) where I can be who I am and where I can live for the dreams that I want for me and the world.

I have decided to stop projecting dreams and visions of life into a future that may be. I have decided to start living the life I want right now, at this moment. That's how this song came about. There is no Tomorrow is a story about a way of living. A story about reducing concern and control of the future and worrying about it. A story about living in the moment.

Postmodern Ritual

Capitalism, the dominant system across the globe, has undeniably brought about tremendous economic growth, technological advancement, and material prosperity. Yet, it is equally undeniable that it is creating profound suffering and destruction, deeply interwoven with its core. 

The system has been causing more harm than good for a long time now! For long enough. It has outlived its usefulness. 

But it is not that simple! The roots of the problem extend far beyond. Capitalism is not the cause of all evil, but the visible tip of the iceberg – a manifestation of a deeper, destructive direction that humanity has gone on long before. This direction involves, above all, the alienation from nature, which we ourselves are, and the destruction of nature as well as of ourselves. 

As usually, the causes delve far beneath the surface. 

Questions must be raised. Questions that are followed by answers and ultimately lead to decisive action and profound change.

León Kerk is the name behind the psychedelic music project Epistemikk. Established in 2019, the aim has been clear ever since – to tell in-depth stories. His sound takes you on deep journeys which are inspired by a nomadic life, social criticism and profound encounters with nature and people. It translates different feelings and experiences that are stored inside through music. 

The Epistemikk sound is leading towards darkness, meditative states, positive energy and light. Built on powerful, bouncing bass lines and screaming leads, the sound is characterized by analog synthesizers of the 80’s, which are bringing all this together.
