Original first generation Junglist, DJ Tina Irie (Dr Penelope Wickson) is a qualified teacher and pub-lished art historian. Her interest in the intersection of global cultures is mirrored by her love of music. Growing up in the north of England in the late 1980s sparked a deep interest in underground House, Hardcore and Techno whilst her passion for Jungle and Drum and Bass spans almost 30 years. In 1994, whilst studying History of Art and Italian at the University of Birmingham, she founded its first ever newspaper column to explore the genre. Immersed in labels such as Reinforced, V Recordings and Creative Source, her heart resides in the heady nights of Swerve, Quest and Metalheadz that defined the 1990s. However, it was only during lockdown that she was able to re-kindle her intense relationship with the scene and spent hours developing her mixing during the months of isolation. Her passion for social justice and community engagement led to volunteering for Fairfield House, Bath - the historic former residence of Haile Selassie where the radio station Imperial Voice is based. As well as her weekly Velvet Rooms show with Imperial Voice, she hosts Jungle Coming Like Jungle on Kane FM every Sunday 9-11pm.

As part of London trio 'The Architex', Ink released some of D&B's most profoundly beautiful music on the foundational 'Basement Records', In 1996 Ink formed his own Architecture Recordings, showcasing more of his deep unorthodox approach to drum and bass and other genres of dance music.

This collection takes a second 'snap' shot (vol2) at some of INK 's most important DnB moments in the past 20 years on Architecture/Architecture Recordings and Other sub labels. INK takes us 'Back To The Future' with this step by step journey, filled with Break-beat history and unreleased tracks!

It is with great pleasure that we get to announce the milestone of reaching Volume 20 and what better way to do it then with a mix from one of our own.

Back in 2012, LLBCJ was born. About a year later, the Soundcloud was birthed and we uploaded the first Volume, with some amazing guests featuring along the way. 

Four years down the line and the latest offering is one of our absolute best yet, if we say so ourselves!

@charlieturbo is a guy I have known for a long, long time and as you can imagine, I've seen him mixing for the majority of that. His passion for this music is unmatched, so I am personally ecstatic to finally have a mix of his that is this good, ready to share with the headz.
