The week we visit the theme of unrequited love. I'm sure we've all been there. I know that I myself still live there frequently haha. 

The synchronicity of these releases along with occurrences in my own life never seize to astound me. Last night I had a wonderful conversation with a close friend on precisely this subject matter. Thank you God for the fullness and richness of nuance and experience that aligns creativity with community in real time. 

Shout out to Our Samplus for the tunage on this one. I actually reached out to their team some months back hoping to make this an official collaboration. Alas, to they failed to respond and so I had to go ahead and play the Real Hip-Hop card and jack their shit anyways. All Love to them and their crew. I've been vibing and supporting their music for years and I hope they continue to bless the world with some of the tastiest Hip-Hop beats out there!

The week we visit the theme of Fear. Fear has long ruled aspects of my life. Currently, however, I am practicing the Warrior Ethos. A stance, perspective, practice and intention to face all fears with courage, grace and loving strength. 

Hip-Hop as a whole has been a vital stepping stone towards embodying the warrior ethos. And the likes of M.O.P., Gang Starr, Brother Ali, Public Enemy, Atmosphere, Wu-Tang Clan countless others have been Godly leaders and teachers in demonstrating throughout their art and craft what it means to be your own, authentic, un-fucking-adulterated Self! No bullshit, No trying to be something you're not, No facades, and taking all that comes with that expression on the chin. I thank these brothers and the women that stood behind them for offering such vital lessons.

From this moment forward we go onwards and upwards. More Rawness, more Realness, more Authenticity, more Unapologetic Expressions, more Fullness, and more Faith!

Thank You to both GURU and DJ PREMIER for being the superhero's to my journey of life. Guru, your wisdom and your message lives on... Rest in Peace. And Preemo, may you continue to uplift yourself and the culture in the gracious manner you do. SALUTE!

This weeks theme is Surrender. Wow, how to describe the significance and breadth of this practice in such a short space? Truthfully, it centres around the practice of relinquishing of owns ego and the practices and habits that keep us defensive, narrow minded and overtly stubborn. 
It's about no longer fighting the flow of life's river, it's about letting go of the victim mentality, it's about owning one's responsibility and showing up with the fullness of self in one's own life!

Contrary to popular belief it is not about laziness, bypassing responsibility, and not showing up for the work that's needed for owns growth. That's a gross misconception. It does, however, put a big middle finger up to grind culture, it is about taking naps when necessary, and it is about tuning in.

To put it succinctly it's about attuning to our intuitive voice within and putting the lessons, teachings, and encouragement that bubble up from that space to action. It's about surrendering the small (ego) self and welcoming the big (collective unconscious/Godhead) Self. 

At least, that's what my spirit is able to write on the matter in this present moment. 

Shout out to DjeuhDjoah and Lieutenant Nicholson for the blessed music they have created together. I stumbled across their album 'Aimez ces airs' in early 2020 and have been hooked since. I thank them for their authentic artistry and hope to one day work with them as I think this is one of my favourite episodes of the series!
