The voyage “Towards the Sun” is one of our favorite journeys, and we are happy to go there
any chance we get. Well, we’re in for a treat. All eyes on the horizon as we welcome two
remixes of Francesco Chiocchi and Black Soda’s ode to the earth’s brightest star, delivered by
some of our favorite producers. Italy’s Pastaboys are first up with their seductive remix of the
original, paving the way Towards the Sun through the night. We often forget it’s pitch dark
before the sun rises, but with racy bass and body-binding rhythm, this remix leaves us aroused,
electrified by the retro sultriness of the afterhours. The trio behind the iconic ‘Deep Musique’
with Osunlade, knows the essence of soul and the depth of the future all too well, and we feel
that here, with subtle Italo nuances.
Up next, Multinotes co-label heads, Musumeci and Lehar prove their sublime studio chemistry
yet again, illuminating a trajectory Towards the Sun beyond the earth’s atmosphere. Emitting
Black Soda’s commanding vocals in celestial plagency, the Italian duo traverse the chasms of
the galaxy in a passage to cosmic euphoria. Driving moist orbicular riffs and poignant chords on
a propulsive locomotive groove, this reinterpretation is a nyctophile’s anthem. The perfect
post-peak time joyride to nocturnal bliss.

Body Language Vol. 23 is the much anticipated new compilation album from story-telling DJ and accomplished producer Cioz. 

The Body Language album series has been a flagship for the Get Physical label since the mid-noughties, with instalments taken over by Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, DJ T., and many more. Now the label welcomes the excellent Cioz into the hot set. 

Volume 23 is packed with Cioz remixes, collaborations, and standout singles from the well-regarded and self-taught artist. Some are brand new, some have been teased on EPs in the lead up to the full release, but each one proves he is an artist with an accomplished sound. Cioz hails from Bergamo in Italy and has established a fine reputation on labels like Monaberry and Stil vor Talent. 

Body Language Vol. 23 opens with 'Soul Fixer,' a slow-building, slow-burning synth-scape filled with drama and tension. Then comes his subtle yet superb remix of M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade's stone-cold classic 'Body Language' with its irresistible lead melody line. The first of many collabs is with Corpino on 'Kari Lampi,' a slick and supple minimal house track awash with gorgeous strings. Further collaborations include the bustling drums and fizzing synths of 'Hey Honey' with T.M.A, late-night headiness of 'Haunted' with Nairobi D, and organic grooves of punchy floor-filler 'Focus Pocus' with Boy Oh Boy. 

At the midpoint, there is depth and darkness to the turbulent synths of 'Imperfection' with &lez, and then beautiful tension between the tight bass and beautiful melodic breakdown of 'Warm Worm' with Sides. The fantastic 'Jodi Rush' with Super Flu is sure to twist heads on the dance floor with its complex synth patterns, and a Lucky Shot Extended Mix of 'Dancing in the Night' has a perfectly soulful vocal over rubbery house grooves. Much loved Cioz tunes 'Rain' and his Neapolis Remix of Patrice Bäumel's 'Clair' from earlier EPs make the cut and lend yet more depth and enchanting melody to this most thoughtful and atmospheric of electronic journeys. 

With Body Language Vol. 23, Cioz proves he is an artist with a wide range of different, equally emotive house styles in his arsenal.

Tel Aviv based artist Saraga arrives on Crosstown Rebels for the first time with Love And Happiness. It marks his only release in 2021 so far, highlighting a standout moment for the Israeli talent.

Saraga spoke on how each track came together, stating: “Al Green is a huge source of inspiration, so Love And Happiness felt very natural. Mujer was inspired by places like Tulum and Bogotá, which is why I chose that vocal. All Day Everyday came from a pure moment when my friend started to sing on my track and Mantra was created for the desert, as I was planning to play at Burning Man.” Love And Happiness manifests as a minimal-leaning dance cut, with low-slung kick-hat pairings residing next to shimmering vocals throughout. Mujer brings an energetic, late-night feel before All Day Everyday arrives as an out-and-out club number. Gritty basslines merge with echoing vocal tones, whilst Mantra transports us thanks to Saharan like whispers and tribal-flecked drum patterns.

Saraga is a well-known regular in Tel Aviv’s thriving musical scene. His productions have landed on established labels such as Nervous Records, Robsoul Recordings and Body Parts, catching the eye of leading tastemakers in the process including Marco Carola, Ricardo Villalobos and The Martinez Brothers to name a few. Performances across Ibiza, Paris, Mykonos, London, New York and a host of other global cities have brought his sound to international audiences, whilst 2022 looks set to be his biggest year yet with a huge collection of original releases, remixes and collaborations on the cards.

Get Physical revisits Karol XVII & MB Valence's 'Bang Bang' hit with a pair of fresh new remixes from Nick Curly and Jori Hulkkonen. 

The original 'Bang Bang' Back to 2013 Mix dropped early in the year and was another of the Polish pair's well designed, highly functional but also brilliantly charming grooves. First up to remix is Nick Curly, one of the most constant tech house players of the last 15 years. The 8Bit boss fomented his own famous Mannheim sound from his home in Germany and now shows he is still right at the sharp end. His mix sits the drums perfectly in the bass for a nice dubbed-out groove. Warm chords are smeared across the track next to tumbling toms and alluring female vocal sounds. They bring a sense of soul to this most cool of grooves. 

Jori Hulkkonen is a hugely prolific Finnish artist who has served up plenty of adventurous and synth-heavy techno and dub albums on labels like My Favourite Robot. He brings his fine studio know-how to this remix which is infinitely deep and widescreen. The angelic vocals float in the air above pillowy synths and a slick house beat which together lock you into a mindful state. 

The still-fresh original 'Bang Bang' (Back to 2013 Mix) is also included once more and is sure, along with the new remixes, to be heard on the world's finest dance floors this summer.
