The only known recording of the 'Erastus Darling' generative musical robot. An offshoot of the ambitious "MJ-01" musical robot project of the 1970s developed by the brilliant Doctor Furious Tanoli. The 'Erastus Darling' or ED as he was called for short was a new direction for Doctor Tanoli as his previous models had been designed with a focus on singing and dancing. ED on the other hand was being developed to write catchy pop music by mashing his hand units against a keyboard while instigating a google search. It would take the results from the 'Did you mean....' drop down menus which were then stored into ED's internal vocoder and set to cheesy ambient lounge music he was programmed to generate. Unfortunately Doctor Tanoli suffered a fatal case of death before he had fully realized ED's program. While the unit has no problem in generating the lyrics and song it was missing the function to properly bridge the disparate elements into a cohesive song. As the unit was unprepared and therefore unable to properly bridge sections together, approaching one would make the unit incredibly nervous and would result in a glitch (sometimes ED would shutdown completely) which made the music largely unlistenable to human ears. Of course, ED being a robot and all, didn't really give a damn. The project was given a small amount of attention after Doctor Tanoli's death from various parties interested in concluding his work. However, no one could quite figure out what made it work (and it was kind of a dick, and people couldn't really stand being around it anyway.) So ED and his legacy faded into the background and were never heard from again..... UNTIL NOW!

Editors note: i'm under 'extreme' pressure to present this to you, even though i told the stupid thing i thought the song was awful. it insisted people these days were acting more and more like robots and thinks it's time to "shine" is now. i certainly can't imagine i'll keep this up long, i'm just posting this to get the thing off my back. this was from it's tentatively planned first album 'Did you mean.....' which hopefully for the sake of all humanity will never see the light of day. if anything, i'd like this post to be my personal tribute to the wonderful work of the great Doc (you're probably quite familiar with his work from the much more successful MJ-01 project), I LOVE YOU FURIOUS, you will be always missed in my heart.
