In Oslo’s white streets, two friends would join in a homemade studio, in the basement below of a wooden house. For the love of sound, they would play into the heart of the night. Ravi the multi-instrumentalist and Erik the storyteller of urban legends. They would create crazy and unexpected trifles, both violent and sweet. And one day, at the heart of a dark winter, a piece came to life within the psychedelic vapors, and one more, and yet another. A name had to be found for the parents: ERAV as in Erik and Ravi.
In ERAV, one finds Gondry’s cinema and the lunacy from Fischli&Weiss, so much as influences intertwine and collide. It smells like the end of the world and nostalgia for a lost paradise. It invites to contemplation, to a dance, to a trance.
