‘Recall’ is @Debbauk's first experimental release  — a meandering soundscape with hints of the weighty breakbeat and distinctive vocal chops first portrayed in his Circular Jaw release back in 2019.

After completing his degree in sound production, the Staffordshire-born producer and DJ, Debba, quickly made a name for himself in the capital's underground scene. Fusing a dense, eerie style of UK techno, bass and breaks, Debba's attention to detail shines through with a new intricate sonic detail waiting to be uncovered with each listen.

Another sonic experiment for your listening curiosity, Ab Und Zu drifts the liminal void between brain stimulating atmospherics and club-centric resonance. Take a kaleidoscopic trip through the off-kilter, composite sounds of London-born label newcomer Midnight Manoeuvres.

Titular track Ab Und Zu combines metallic SFX, gyrating melodies and some choice vocal cuts in a psych-tinged techno merger, while Moored strips the tempo back to chuggier pastures reminiscent of early tinkerings in trip hop and breakbeat. Then rounding out the original set, Spincycle brings a darkly satisfying arrangement of aqueous textures and hardened drones - the Autechre-esque flourish to your tumble down the rabbit hole.

Stepping through on the re-fix, Control Freak’s Customer Service offers an accelerated, dubbed out and glitched up interpretation of Ab Und Zu, complete with arpeggios and wobbles dialled up to max.

The final track of the EP - and a Bandcamp exclusive - reimagines Brownstone’s iconic R&B anthem If You Love Me, introducing jaunty drum work and weighted bass to the track's soulful, heartfelt lyrics; a move inspired by the genre-bending label and club night Autonomic, founded by dBridge and Instra:mental.

Potential Energy marks an impressive label debut from London-based producer, and former Brighton music student, Delano. Although relatively new on the block, his productions uphold a sense of maturity and complexity, evidenced by recent support on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, and Boiler Room.

Comprised of 4 original tracks the EP stays true to its namesake; conjuring future rave fantasies that play on the build and release of tension, encapsulated by elements of trance euphoria, progressive techno and explosive bass & breaks.

Re-imaginings of ‘Close 2 U’ - from fellow label mate Debba and Keep Hush’s scg - bring things to a slower, stripped back focus, rounding off the release on two distinct chug and acid tides.

“I’m always on the hunt for old records” Delano explains, “but for this project I wanted to do the opposite, try to create sounds that spark ideas of what the clubs of the future could sound like”.

Dancefloor moments and community have also played a major role in shaping the EP: “I think the majority of my inspiration comes from the people around me. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a lot of very talented creators who share the same goals and ideals”.

PREMIERE : Delano - Potential Energy

Indian musician Charanjit Singh is an unsung pioneer of electronic music, with his ahead-of-the-time 1982 LP 'Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat', exploring eastern motifs over a western accompaniment, and quite possibly created the acid-house sound by accident, 5 years before 'Acid Trax' was released. Ché Wilson (CLW)'s extended rework includes a more broken-beat electro interpretation, with elements also drawing from UK bass and breakbeat, whilst also trying to maintain a respectful balance to the original genius behind the track. 

Ché is a producer, musician, and DJ from Liverpool, championing all sorts of cosmic sounds from dub to jungle, disco to electro, who is part of a series of collectives including his own secret location parties with @keepitcryptic and @xjukebox reggae/jungle events, as well musical projects such as Rubber Dub, Direct Injectors, The Cryptide, and Soulsmoke, all quietly preparing for launching debut releases this summer.

We expect big things from ché - who harks from an illustrative musical background - his father being Mr Greg Wilson :)

HALT. are Craig Earp and Nathan Shwalbe. An electronic music duo from Birmingham UK, formed in the winter of 2019. As lifelong friends and collaborators - influenced by styles of Ambient, Drone, 1990’s IDM, Techno, and Soundtrack music - their productions radiate with emotion and natural chemistry.

Throughout their music, themes of nostalgia, dream states, and the occult are prominent, often rooted in highly textured and atmospheric environments. A sound motivated by the industrial landscapes of their Brutalist home city and inspired by the likes of Autechre, BOC, Morricone & Abul Mogard etc.
