Tras conocer que Jarre iba a lanzar un nuevo disco de Oxygene por su 40 aniversario y haber escuchado Oxygene 17 en varios vídeos en concierto me he animado a hacer mi versión con FL Studio. 

Decir que soy muy inexperto en el mundo de la composición/creación de música (lo poco que sé lo he ido aprendiendo a base de prueba y error). Si véis algún error "grave" en la composición os pido disculpas por adelantado!.

After read that Jarre is going to release a new Oxygene album for its 40 anniversary and after I've listened Oxygene 17 in several videos from concerts, I have encouraged to make my own version using FL Studio.

I have to say that I am very inexperienced in the world of composition / creation of music (all I know I learned it by trial and error). If you see some "serious" error in the composition my apologies in advance!.

Oxygene 17 - JM Jarre - FL Studio Cover

Este es mi segundo proyecto con FL Studio 12, debo reconocer que me ha sido más complicado que Oxygene 17 ya que esta canción tiene muchos detalles a tener en cuenta (PADs, efectos, panning, etc). La última parte de la canción me ha costado bastante y creo que, pese a todo, no está bien... pero no sé qué puedo hacer para hacerla fiel a la original.

The Heart Of Noise, Pt1 - JM Jarre - FL Studio Cover

While I'm working on The Heart of Noise Pt2, I've received a Christmas present, a MIDI controller, Irig Keys 37 PRO. So I've started to play the keyboard to get back my few interpreting skills (very very low :S). 

This is one of my favorite songs from Oxygene 3 (in particular) and from Jean-Michel Jarre (in general), because, although it seems a  very simple song, it has something that like me to hear over and over (the melody, the lead... I don't know xD). So, since I've heard this song I wanted to learn how to play it and I practised a lot. So, do this song was very easy and fast with the MIDI controller (except the ending pads and arpegio).

The next I would like to do is, apart of The Heart of Noise Pt2, I would like to compose my own song, and see how I feel with that xD. Furthermore, I would like to do the next songs interpreting with the keyboard, instead of put note to note for each instrument.

Anyway, as always, I hope you like this song  ^ ^

Mientras estaba trabajando en The Heart of Noise Pt2, me regalaron por navidades un controlador MIDI, Irig Key 37 Pro. Así que comencé a retomar mis pocas habilidades de la interpretación (muy pocas y malas la verdad :S).

Este es una de mis canciones favoritas de Oxygene 3 (en particular) y de Jean-Michel Jarre (en general), porque, pese a que es una canción aparentemente simple, tiene algo que me encanta escucharla una y otra vez (la melodía, el lead del estribillo... no lo sé xD). Así que, desde que escuché esta canción siempre quise aprender a tocarla, así que fue lo primero que hice con el controlador MIDI. Hacer esta canción ha sido más fácil y rápido gracias al controlador MIDI (excepto los PADs y el arpegio final).

Lo próximo que me gustaría hacer, a parte de The Heart of Noise Pt2, es hacer mi propia canción y ver qué tal se me da xD. A parte de hacer las futuras canciones interpretando y corrigiendo, en lugar de ir poniendo una a una cada nota de cada instrumento.

Finally, after much work, many tests and many versions, here is The Heart of Noise, Pt.2.

The truth is that I think that this song is as difficult as the first part because it also has many background details and many variations.

I have achieved to recreate the slowed rithm of the beginning and the end of the song, thanks to the "Granulizer" effect, although is not 100% because it's necessary to use the same instruments used by Jarre, but I think it is quite similar ^^.

Anyway, as always, I hope you like this song  ^ ^. Enjoy!

Finalmente, después de mucho trabajo, muchas pruebas y muchas versiones, aquí está The Heart of Noise, Pt.2. 

La verdad que me ha parecido igual de difícil que la primera parte ya que también tiene muchos detalles de fondo y muchas variaciones. 

He conseguido recrear el ritmo ralentizado del principio y del final, gracias al efecto "Granulizer", aunque no es fiel al 100% ya que es necesario utilizar los mismos instrumentos que usa Jarre, pero creo que es bastante parecido ^^.

The Heart of Noise, Pt 2 - JM Jarre - FL Studio Cover

Well, first of all, sorry my delay for upload a new song/cover, I have so many thins to do: programming on my free time (I've an Android app that I have to update every now and then), my job, family and friends, relaxing sometimes playing with videogames, the summer :P and, of course, I made some songs but all are in an incomplete stages and I hope to finish all them soon :).

Well, a few months ago I've discovered this fantastic group, Le Matos. Apart of Jarre, I'm a very big fan of all "synthwave" styles music (outrun, darksynth, etc... the true is that I don't know the differences between this kind of music and I, generally, refer to them like "synthwave", sorry if I make a big mistake for that :S).

I have many favorite songs from Le Matos, so, I've decided to make a cover for one of them. This song doesn't take much time, compared with Jarre... I would like to think that this is due to I've learned a lot these months about Music (I'm not experienced and, little and little, I'm learning new concepts and how make/get a sound, it's an awesome work and I love it (I can waste hours of my time trying to get a sound xD).

Well, I hope you like this group as much as I do and, of course, I hope you like this cover.

Bueno, primero de todo, os pido disculpas por tardar tanto en subir una nueva canción/cover. Tengo tantas cosas que hacer: programar en mi tiempo libre (tengo una app de Android que de vez en cuando voy actualizando), mi trabajo, mi familia y amigos, relajarme algunas veces jugando a algún videojuego, el verano :P y, por supuesto, hacer algunas canciones, lo que pasa que todas ellas están todavía "a medias" :( pero espero, poco a poco, ir teminándolas pronto :).

Bien, hace algunos meses descubrí a este fantástico grupo, Le Mastos. Debo decir que, a parte de Jarre, soy un gran fan de todos los estilos "synthwave" (outrun, darksyhtn, etc, la verdad es que no sé diferenciar estos estilos y, generalmente, me refiero a ellos como "synthwave", disculpadme si cometo un grave error :S).

Tengo muchísimas canciones de La Matos como favoritas, así que me he animado a hacer un cover de una de ellas. Esta canción no me ha llevado mucho tiempo, comparado con Jarre... me gustaría pensar que esto es debido a que he aprendido mucho en todos estos meses sobre la música en general (no soy un experto y, poco a poco, estoy aprendiendo nuevos conceptos y como hacer/conseguir algún sonido, es una tarea maravillosa y me encanta! (puedo llevarme horas perdidas en sacar un sonido investigando xD).

Le Matos - La Mer des Possibilités - FL Studio Cover

Apart from Le Matos (and others Synthwave artists) I'm a very big fan of Waveshaper. I met him thanks to Fury game OST (recommended!).

He's one of my favorite artists, I can spend hours listening to his music and it's hard for me select his best song.

This one is very special for me, you can see in the video that it looks a simple song, but, the real difficult is in getting its sounds and composing a melody as magical as this. It's remind me as if I listened before, in a videogame in my old Amstrad or NES, but I can't say for sure.

BTW, I'm working in my own songs and Waveshaper is one of my inspirations. The problem is that it is taking me a lot of time composing something "good" (well... good for me... maybe is not as good :P) and this is a very complicated work :(

Anyway, as always, I hope you like this song  ^ ^. Enjoy!

A parte de Le Matos (y muchos otros artistas del Synthwave) soy un gran admirador de Waveshaper. Lo conocí gracias al OST del juego Fury (recomendada por cierto!).

Él es uno de mis artistas favoritos, puedo llevarme horas escuchando su música y es difícil para mi elegir su mejor canción.

Esta canción es especial para mi, puedes ver en el vídeo que, a simple vista, parece un tema sencillo, pero la dificultad real está en conseguir sus sonidos y, además, en componer una melodía tan mágica como esta. Me suena muchísimo como si ya lo hubiera escuchado antes, como en un juego en mi viejo Amstrad o NES, pero tampoco puedo decirlo con seguridad.

Por otro lado, estoy trabajando en mis propios temas y Waveshaper es, por supuesto, una de mis inspiraciones. El problema es que me está llevando mucho tiempo componer algo "bueno" (bueno... quiero decir, que suene bueno para mí... quizás después no sea tan bueno :P), está siendo un trabajo muy complicado :(.

Waveshaper - 1982 Space Program - FL Studio Cover

Hi! I know it's been a long time since I got a cover of Jarre. 

I'm working on my personal album, I already have 3 songs done but it's taking me a long time (although I'm not 100% dedicated). 

Well, during the summer offers, I went crazy and I've acquired a Reason 10 license for a very good price! It was one of my favourites music software and I saw the deal a great opportunity to  use it again :)

Right now, I'm in the learning stage, again, just like when I started with FL Studio. So what's the better way to learn how to use the software? by creating a cover! :P.

So, this time, I've decided to cover Automatic Pt1, this song was one of my favourites tracks from Electronica 1 (well, Pt1 & Pt2) and I wanted to do this cover long time ago.

I know it has too many errors and some sounds could be better. Unlike FL Studio (where Oxygene 17 was made searching similar presets and modify them to make them similar to the original song), this time almost all sounds/presets are made from scratch (starting with a basic sound), except "bell" sound (was a sample) and drums (Reason samples too). I wanted to try to get the original sound from myself.

Well, about Reason, I can't compare with FL Studio, yet. I love FL Studio and although the workflow is different (with its advantages and disadvantages), in general, I must say that Reason is amazing!. Europa plugin is awesome (you can see that almost all presets were made with Europa plugin) and I have to learn the others synths (Thor, SubTractor, Malstrom, etc.). So I have a lot of work to do xD.

Well, as always, I hope you like it! Apologies for the errors in the song. I hope to improve over time :)

Hola! Sé que llevo mucho tiempo sin subir un cover de Jarre.

Actualmente, estoy trabajando en mi álbum personal (por fin!), ya tengo 3 canciones terminadas pero me está llevando mucho tiempo (aunque no puedo estar 100% dedicado).

Bien, durante las ofertas de Verano, se me fue la cabeza y he adquirido una licencia de Reason 10 por un módico precio!. Fue uno de mis programas musicales favoritos en el pasado y con la oferta vi una gran oportunidad de poder retomarlo de nuevo y usarlo otra vez :)

Ahora mismo me encuentro en fase de aprendizaje, como cuando empecé con FL Studio. Así que, cuál es la mejor forma de aprender a usar el programa? Pues haciendo un cover! :P.

Así que, esta vez, he decidido hacer el cover de Automatic Pt1, esta canción fue una de mis favoritas de Electronica 1 (bueno Pt1 y Pt2) y llevaba tiempo queriendo hacer este cover.

Sé que tengo muchos errores en el tema y que algunos sonidos podrían ser mejores. A diferencia de cuando empecé con FL Studio (donde Oxygene 17 fue hecho buscando presets similares y modificándolos para adaptarlos al tema original), en esta ocasión casi todos los sonidos están hechos desde 0 (empezando con un sonido base), excepto el sonido de campana (que es un sample) y la percusión (que son samples de Reason también). Quería intentar obtener los sonidos originales por mi mismo.

Bien, sobre Reason, no puedo compararlo todavía con FL Studio. Me encanta FL Studio y, aunque su "workflow" es distinto (con sus ventajas e inconvenientes), en general, puedo decir que Reason es una maravilla!. El plugin Europa es una pasada (puedes ver que casi todos los sonidos de la canción están hechos con este plugin) y todavía tengo que aprender a usar los otros sintetizadores (Thor, Subtractor, Malstrom, etc.). Así que todavía tengo mucho trabajo que hacer xD.

En fin, como siempre, espero que os guste la canción!. Disculpas de nuevo por mis errores en la canción. Espero mejorar con el tiempo :)

Hi again! I'm still in the learning stage with Reason and I've decided to continue with Automatic Part 2 ^^, another song that I love.

I've tried to get the sounds as faithful as posible, the second part has something that I don't like, it sounds like more "empty" than in the original theme... I don't know very well what's the problem.

Every day I like Reason more and I like a lot of his workflow. I think that I have more or less controlled the Europa plugin, so I would like to start learning the others (Thor for example). I have to see what I can do now, if a theme of my own or another cover (I think it's time to continue advancing the album ...). Although I still miss things from FL Studio (their synths are very good).

Hola de nuevo! Sigo en fase de aprendizaje con Reason y he decidido hacer la parte 2 de Automatic ^^, otro tema que me encanta.

He intentado hacer los sonidos los más fieles posibles, el estribillo hay algo que sigue sin gustarme y lo noto algo más "vacío" que en el tema original... pero no sé muy bien el qué.

Cada día me va gustando más Reason y le estoy cogiendo mucho el gustillo a su workflow. Creo que más o menos tengo dominado el plugin Europa, así que me gustaría ponerme a aprender los otros (Thor por ejemplo), a ver con qué me pongo ahora, si con un tema propio u otro cover (creo que va siendo hora de seguir avanzando el álbum...). Aunque sigo echando en falta cosas de FL Studio (sus sintes son muy buenos).

The final theme, so I decided to make a "relaxed" theme, imitating a happy ending and the final credits. My main inspiration was Vangelis (I guess it's easy to identify :P), using chords with long reverbs effects, but, also, I've used 8 bits sound to make the melody and bitcrush for the end, like if the game was over and the videogame console or PC was switch off.

Well, I've learnt a lot of, between my covers and this album. I hope next albums are better and better and, of course, you like them! :)

El tema final, así que decidí hacer un tema "tranquilo", imitando un final feliz y los creditos finales. Mi insipiración principal fue Vangelis (creo que es facil de identificarlo :P), usando acordes con efectos de larga reverberación, pero, también, he usado sonidos de 8 bits para la melodía y el efecto bitcrush para el final, como si el juego ya hubiera acabado y la consola o el PC se hubiera apagado.

This time I tried to make a story with this theme, trying to follow last tracks "stories". I've tried to make a typical "final combat" between goods and bads, where, this time, goods win the war. I think song timing and FXs are an important part of the song to transmit this.

I've noticed that my last tracks follow an A-B-A' structure, maybe because if I try to get a A-B-A-B structure the tracks could last a long time. This track I think that follows an A-B-A'B :P because part A' is mixed with part B. I hope you like it!! :)

Esta vez he intentado hacer una historia con este tema, intentando seguir las "historias" de las últimas canciones. He intentado hacer el típico "combate final" entre buenos y malos, donde, esta vez, los buenos ganan la guerra. Creo que el ritmo de la canción y los FXs han sido parte importante en el tema para poder transmitir eso.

Me he dado cuenta, curiosamente, que mis anteriores canciones siguen una estructura A-B-A', quizás debido a que si hiciera la estructura A-B-A-B las canciones serían muy largas. My second track. This song started while I was experiencing with Arminator VST plugin (a free Yamaha CS-80 synth). I still do not see myself capable of composing from a motive (a story, etc), but, while doing this song, I was imagining an interstellar fight between goods and bads and the goods loose the battle xD. Personally, I love the bass.

Mi segundo tema. Esta canción surgió mientras experimentaba con el plugin VST Arminator (un sinte gratuito basado en el Yamaha CS-80). Todavía no me veo capaz de componer a partir de un motivo (una historia, etc.), but, mientras hacía esta canción, me estaba imaginando un combate espacial entre buenos y malos donde los buenos perdían la batalla xD. Experiment 1 (The Beginning)

Hi again! After Experiments album was released I gave myself a little break to clear my mind and to be more motivated (the true is the album was not very popular, not as much as Jarre covers, and it has saddened me a little xD).

This time I've dared to make a cover of Carpenter Brut!. I could say that is my favorite synthwave artist, for me, he is the best, for a lot of reasons: he makes unique melodies and, above all, he makes specially unique sounds. I've been wanting to make a cover of this artist but he has always given me respect, because his sounds are very complicated to get (in my opinion) and, also, it seems that he is a sound engineer, so the final result of each of his songs are very well mixed and masterized.

My favorite song is Turbo Killer, but I've prefered to start with this theme, which is algo one of my favorites, to have a first contact with Carpenter Brut style :P.

The first thing: the superbass is unique, I've been unable to get a similar sound. I've discovered that he uses a synth called Arturia Minibrute and there isn't any similar vst instrument. The only VST (that I have) that it gives me the nearest similar sound is Diversion, from Dimitry Sches. By the way, a very recommended synthesizer, it sometimes has a reduced price, around 40-50€ (although it eats a lot of CPU, you have to be careful when creating sounds).

In the other hand, I'm trying to learn how master a theme. I know that there are limiters, compressors, etc, but I don't know how to use it. Carpenter Brut know how to master very well, this theme is very well mastered, you can open it on Audacity or similar and you'll see only a big rectangle representing the sound... however, it sounds very well without distortions or glitches. For example, I've unable to get emphasis to percusion. You can hear perfectly that kick and snare mixed with the rest of the songs in the original song but not well in mines.

So, nowaday I'm trying to improve my mixes and mastering, I hope one day I can do something similar xD. And that's all!, next I would like to do Turbo Killer. And also, I would like to start with my second album, I hope do it better than first!
