The sounds you hear come from an old kitchen fan making odd noise, a mostly closed door making a soft whistle, an old church bell and even a glass of carbonated water merrily bubbling for your amusement.

Commuting From Work

Ink doesn't always have to be black. Sometimes it is actually milk pouring into a glass cake-protection unit in slow motion.

Ink In Motion

It is Christmas, and in a photo studio the members of Erebus go, having decided to do some live performances. Sad thing is that even though in a studio, we somehow forgot to take real pictures. But, these cell phone pictures will have to do.

This is a short version of the much longer real session, which is a collection of 3 different sessions we did. The full version is in reality 57 minutes.

Sessions 1-3

A maiden, dressed in purest white, a sash of red silk about her waist, wearing a crown of candles steps into the relentless darkness, allowing for a brief moment of light and rest. Also, she brings gingerbread cookies and coffee.

Lucem In Tenebris

Najader... or Naiads. River nymps. This comes from sounds recorded during a night in April, as the snow is slowly melting, forming brooks. Also, a highway overpass and a tunnel/storm drain under the same highway.

Raiding a couple of old hard-drives found in a dumpster... there wasn't much fun. Apart from porn and some pictures of the family.However, found was a few odd mp3-files. When listening to them, they were completely silent. When boosting the volume... there was strange noise. That noise - heavily edited - was used to make this dark ambient/noise tune.

The funny thing about time, is that you need to have a clock to see how little time you really have.

Things That Make You Tick

Isn't it kind of amazing how much space there is within us? Within our bodies and within our minds. The more one considers it, the more mind boggling it really is. Best not consider it.

The Fathomless Space Within

Nostalgia. Alluring, bright and only what we actually wish to remember. However scratch the surface and it might not be what we had hoped.

Reminiscence

Taking a half-an-hour walk in the rain can be exciting if you got a recording device. Then you can record as you walk, add a bit of a lowpass filter to remove the "fuff-fuff-fuff" sound of the wind. Then, when you come home, you put on try clothes, sit down by the computer and mix it all into a song.

Erebus - Autumn Promenade

Just as there is beauty in darkness, there is darkness in beauty. Seen from the right angle, everything tends to be quite dark and harsh. However, keep looking from that same perspective, and you will realize that this harsh darkness is indeed quite beautiful. Also, introductions tends to be quite pretentious.

This is the SoundCloud of Erebus. A collective of people who when they meet tend to share their darkness with one another and and say things like “Oh, dude, that sounds so cool! Let's record that and make dark ambient!”. We are few, we are many, we are no one.. No one take credit, no one gets left out.
