Intro theme I had lying around from a roguelike I tried making ages ago  (probably 2004-2005?) using Adventure Game Studio. The game, titled .e (pronounced "Dot E"), never really got off the ground, but I found this audio file on my computer and figured I might as well share it.

In-game theme music written for a game made in 48 hours for Indie Speed Run 2013. It is designed to loop.

Sneaky Darts

Written about ten years ago, I just used this piece to get myself familiar with the symphonic sound samples I just purchased. The piece's age is the reason why it's so short, why it includes a clavichord/electric piano thing, why there are so many blatant parallel fifths in it, and why one of the themes is reminiscent of a theme from Metroid.

The Darkness Key

Solo performance piece for bass clarinet written sometime just prior to 2006. If I remember correctly, I had this piece performed in my senior composition recital at the University of Redlands.

This version was created using the East West Symphonic Orchestra from a MIDI file.

Written for the August 2014 Tune Contest at the Adventure Game Studio forums. Proxima Centauri is a red dwarf and the nearest star to Earth besides the Sun.

A very short chamber piece for oboe, clarinet, and bassoon that's sort of a miniature tone poem. I wrote it very quickly hardly changing any notes at all. I was trying to be impressionistic, and I'm not sure how well it worked. Whatever.

Passage to Serenity

It's based on the harmonic content in the Mad Forest theme from Castlevania III. Obviously, this track is a lot uglier than basically everything else ever made, so...

The Toxicorps

Three marimbas combine to produce eighteen minutes of non-diatonic chords. Maybe useful for a soundtrack or something?

Little Piano Thing

Luke Simpson received his Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from the University of Redlands in California in 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from CSU San Bernardino in 2011, graduating with High Honors as the School of Computer Science Outstanding Undergraduate student for the year. He presently spends his time composing a lot of music and occasionally telling computers what to do.
