Ian McKenzie joins the Kindisch family with a breathtaking three-tracker ‘Lullaby’. The title track steals the show with hauntingly elegant chord progressions that glow warmly in the distance. Underneath, a muted kick adds a percussive drive and various atmospheric elements float atop the mix. From here, Ian takes us towards the floor with a groovy club burner ‘Guilty Lovers’. Taking us on first with solid percussion, Ian teases well-crafted dub chords as he sprinkles in a bit of vocal magic. ‘Hidden Dreams’ ends the EP on a somewhat experimental note, with a rhythm that suits itself just as well for home listening as it does for the after-hour morning shift. Well thought out with many layers to discover, the track beckons for repeat listening to extract the full beauty and attention to detail.
