SPOILER-FREE SYNOPSIS 
 
In San Francisco, a vampire named Louis – or someone who claims he’s a vampire – recounts his story to a reporter. His yarn stretches back, two centuries to New Orleans, where Louis, then a wealthy plantation owner, falls victim to the dashing vampire Lestat, whose age is undetermined. Freshly minted, Louis learns the ways of vampirism from Lestat, realizing there is one key difference between them:  whereas Lestat uses people like the meals they are, Louis cares about them, and drinks the blood of rats, birds, other creatures of the night.  And when the pair meet Claudia, a girl who’s just lost her mother to the plague, Louis’ paternal feelings take over – and so he feeds, or rather, they feed on Claudia – and a family is formed. Around the world and over time, the battle of wits and wiles intensifies.  And when the breaking point comes, this family, and maybe all of humankind, are in for a rude awakening.

Matthew Saldivar has originated and appeared in principal roles on Broadway in Bernhardt/Hamlet, Junk, Peter and the Starcatcher, Act One, A Streetcar Named Desire, Saint Joan, The Wedding Singer, Honeymoon in Vegas, and Grease. He has performed in dozens of Off-Broadway and regional productions as well as in film and television. Matt also composed songs, played bass and guitar, and portrayed the character of Julio de los Flacos as a long-time member of the band and theater/cabaret/comedy troupe The Petersons. He received his MFA in acting from NYU.  Recess snack: Nutty Buddies.
