When Robyn Hitchcock found himself standing next to Emma Swift at an Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell concert in 2013, a new portal in sadcore music opened up. That Christmas found them living and rehearsing in the tiny kitchen of a damp English sea-side flat once inhabited by Charles Darwin. Drawn together musically by a penchant for songs of desire and desolation, Robyn's crystalline guitar-playing and Swift's yearning harmonies evoke a psychic landscape where  ghost trams lumber through the desert and desperate cacti grow beneath the sea.

AJ Evans has been a number of things throughout the years, but with all of them he has always been an artist. Through many adversities that he attributes to 'having to pay my dues with the whole suffering of the artist thing', he has maintained a history of releasing popular music directly to the public via the Internet as far back as 1995 when he decided his art was to be heard, even if it meant bypassing labels and just putting it out there for the world to enjoy. This, in turn, got him worldwide exposure and being requested to sign release forms so his music could be played on the radio in several European countries.

AJ Evans and John Phetteplace have been writing songs and playing music together and solo since 1989. Their first band, Blue Vision, was considered one of the most marketable acts amongst the unknown bands in Philly once there studio demo tapes were stolen and made public.

Evans conceived Group of Deviants following the success of his CD "I May Be a Stoner (But, I Ain't Fucking Stupid!)' Maxi-Disc featuring Anthony Kremski (who billed himself as Shaggs). Evans knew there would be more work with Anthony and other people and created the Group of Deviants umbrella to cover any collaborative work so no one was guest appearing on an AJ Evans track.

Group of Deviants has been an increasing popular brand of music due to very savvy p.r. on behalf of Evans and very popular graphic artwork that adorns their releases which have consistently provided their audiences with top-notched produced music from across the genres.

The latest in the p.r. campaign to get Group of Deviants to an even wider audience is a series of remix contests. They now have DJ's in the Ukraine, Canada and NYC exposed, remixing and finding rotation for Group of Deviants music.

We have just spoken with Exit 39 Productions, NYC about management which consists of an outlet that will carry our CD's and Vinyl release. It is a very successful major clothing chain that caters to a trendy crowd but, more details once it is cement.

Group of Deviants has continued to work through some major adversities and has continued to provide some of the best music for their genres and we are hoping to spread our brand of music our this summer to fill the hearts and imaginations of the people on the dance floors.

With AJ Evans serving as producer, audio engineer, graphic artist, owner and manager of SINaMANIAC Music Releases, a label created to protect his music, lyricist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, video producer and editing and John's talents as songwriter, guitarist, bassist, video production and make-up artist, Group of Deviants is a self contained powerhouse of full production talent, we just need the help to keep the dream alive and reach a larger audience.
