Diplomacy

A late upload, here. I recorded this one on 03.15.2021, just as the realization we'd have to lock down really hit. I figured what better time to record a mix using only tunes from one of the greatest labels EVER: Quarantine Recordings! Signal chain on this one was: 2 x Denon SC5000 -> Allen + Heath Xone96 -> Apogee Duet 2. Which means there are some nice high-resonance HPF filter sweeps in this one. Listen, as much as I adore my current mixer, I will always miss those high-drama Xone filters :(

Ayyyyyy! I did a mix similar to this one at the beginning of this year, where I played a bunch of tunes I liked that I picked up in that year. I liked the mix so decided to do it again! Thing is, though, there were a TON of tunes I drew for this mix and this isn't close to half of them, so perhaps I may do another one? Probably not though, I'm beat after recording this one, lol. First off, thank you to Amy for posting that she found this and thanks to her husband Donald for ripping the CD and sending it over!

I'd say this was probably some time in like 2004 or 2005? If I had to guess, it would be some time in 2004. I was clearly getting tunes sent to me but I did play a couple records on the mix, so I wasn't where I was only playing stuff that was sent to me. First three are Tony, second three are me and we alternated like that back and forth. Back in those days, the signal chain would have been:

2 x Technics SL1200 mk2 AND 2 x Pioneer CDJ 800 mk1 -> Pioneer DJM 500 -> Aux In of a Dell notebook of some sort.
