This original tune is a high-pressure steam boiler set to music, and it rides on steel rails of rhythm created by Brian Aylor on drums, who cut his teeth touring with Little Milton and Bobby “Blue” Bland.   Bassist Leo Goff, the inspiration for this song, is a locomotive personified; here he chugs along on a 1963 Fender Jazz Bass, which has the same set of strings Leo put on in 1969.   Leo’s former musical associates include T-Bone Walker, Albert King, and Rufus Thomas.  
Walter Hughes, whose influences range from Bluegrass to British Rock provides the fire on electric guitar, shoveling coal into the furnace with chunky rhythm and a fiery-yet-tasty guitar break.

Although the song is self-explanatory, it draws on a timeless theme that the blues genre has visited for decades: unwinding after a hard workday. Though this album from which it comes is incredibly diverse in styles, this particular song reminds everyone of exactly where the Eric Hughes Band’s roots lie: rowdy, fun, dirty Blues.  Brian Aylor on drums and Leo Goff build a “stone” foundation for this “high” building to sit upon; Walter Hughes brings some extremely tasty wah-pedal guitar that compliments Chris Stephenson’s barrel-house piano.

Called "...guaranteed crowd-pleasers" by Living Blues Magazine, Eric and his band are multiple award-winners.  Twice awarded Best Self-Produced CD, Hughes and company are the latest recipients of the Muddy Mojo Award, as well as Memphis Battle of the Blues winners.  Hughes' tough grooves and witty lyrics are original and authentic- full of as much wild, smoky, grit as the clubs on Beale Street which he calls home.  Whether solo/acoustic or backed by his full band, Eric Hughes combines a one-two punch of musicianship and songwriting into an extremely entertaining bundle to the delight of an ever-growing fanbase.
