A pioneer of rave, LTJ Bukem has defined the sound of drum and bass, breaks and jungle for over three decades. One of the first artists to bring drum & bass from the underground to the mainstage, his solo productions such as ’Atlantis (I Need You)’, are staples of UK dance culture.

Today, LTJ Bukem brings all those decades of experience to bear on Above & Beyond’s ‘Homecoming’ from their 2019 instrumental album ‘Flow State’. Written for mindfulness and meditation, it’s become one of Above & Beyond’s most successful releases to date, hitting over 280 million streams worldwide.

“Firstly, it was an absolute pleasure remixing Above and Beyond. The music we both represent draws from such similar influences.
 
‘Homecoming’ gave me a sense of warmth and calmness that I wanted to represent in my remix. I built the remix around the most important elements, the piano chords and melody. I replayed the chords as a starting point and the rest just fell into place. I also love the analog synthesized arpeggios that run quietly through the original, so I resampled a few of them and made them louder in my mix.
