Indigenous

Eric Jiaju Lee is a producer, songwriter, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist specializing in stringed instruments. A classically trained violinist since the age of four, Lee has over 30 years of experience as a producer, solo artist, band member, and session player. 

Lee co-founded the seminal Asian American rock band SuperChink, shared the stage with Beijing rock icon Cui Jian and was a bass player for Chinese pop star Luo Dayo. Lee has performed in venues ranging from Lincoln Center to CBGB, with production and performance credits in a large range of musical projects including pop, rock, alternative, world music, experimental music, and film and theatrical soundtracks. 

Lee also founded the Beyond Boundaries Music Series, building a community of diverse musicians that explored through improvised musical dialogue new expressions of music that freely drew upon the music of other cultures as well as jazz, rock, funk, electronica, and folk music.

A world traveler, Lee likes to approach music from a global perspective, drawing from the age-old occurence of the exchange and hybridization of musical forms and traditions, which he sees as a harmonic manifestation of a “one world, one people, one music” phenomenon.
