São Paulo’s underground electronic scene takes the spotlight this September as Mau Maioli and Vasconcellos unveil their debut EP together, Rave, on Berlin’s Inner Shah Recordings. Though long-time collaborators across different projects, and co-founders of Synce, the influential radio show and label shaping São Paulo’s sound, this marks the first time the two producers have released a joint record under their own names.

The EP is a two-track statement of intent, steeped in nostalgia but aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

“Crow Groove” channels Italo’s pulse and collides it with the darker edge of disco and wave, building tension around sharp 80s synths and relentless club momentum.

“Rave”, the title track, shifts gear into the euphoric energy of 90s trance. It’s a tribute to the culture that shaped electronic music’s global rise: a fragantly contagious anthem designed for unity, release, and the collective high of a crowd moving as one.

With Rave, Mau Maioli and Vasconcellos capture two sides of the night: the shadowed, groove-heavy hypnosis of Crow Groove, and the ecstatic rush of Rave. Together, they weave a narrative that celebrates their shared roots while pointing toward the future.

This is timeless disco house music and truly is a testament to how good they are as composers and producers.  They have an excellent club sensibility but still retain that soulfulness that gives house music its heritage/value.  This is straight up hands in the air peaktime madness - think Coachella / Pacha Ibiza / Glastonbury style vibes.

This track is an expert take on Hans Zimmer‘s iconic track ‘S.T.A.Y‘ from the movie score of Interstellar, and encapsulates everything that is good about progressive house. With a driving bassline throughout the early stages of the track, ‘STAY‘ possesses an immense energy from the get go, with the ‘Interstellar‘ melody creeping its way in. After the intro comes an early yet short break down, before the first glimpse of the drop, with a similar section following this to build yet more suspense and energy prior to the expertly crafted breakdown that made this track such a signature part of Kryder’s sets for so long. 

Driven by atmospheric horns and that stunning melody, the break retains the space-aged sound of the original whilst contributing to the creation of a progressive house masterpiece. Rising higher and out of the break, the final drop hits seamlessly to provide the perfect climax to an incredible production. A long awaited release from one of the UK’s finest producers, ‘STAY‘ is a progressive treasure that will captivate dance music fans all around the world.
