In my opinion, nothing else is more important than honesty in friendship. I always expect my friends to tell me the truth, whether it is good or bad. For instance, I would like my friends to be honest with me and tell me when I make a mistake. If they do this and tell me what they really think, then I will be able to rectify my errors and become a better person. Loyalty and humor are also important in a friendship, but humor only matters when you first meet a person and it has little bearing on friendship in the long run. Loyalty is also valuable but I’m looking for a friend, not a follower. As for honesty, I simply cannot become friends with a person who may lie to me, however small the lie may be.
