Omfeel’s technical prowess pairs with her knack for poignant, moving melodies to create the perfect soundtrack for the day’s end.

Omfeel recalls the inspiration for the song: 

“The track was inspired by an evening walk on a warm summer day. For me, nature has a healing power.  Watching the sunset, you seem to feel the care of this world, look and life is for you. I wanted to convey this feeling of warmth in this track. You can also hear the breath of the wind in fast piano notes, sunny overflows and light harmonies – that very feeling of gratitude"

This track is from the first installment entitled "Winter" which was recorded live to a sold out theater in LA on 12/12/13. It featured a 10 piece chamber ensemble with electronics.

For today’s program I’ve invited Orla Wren, an artist from North England releasing music on Flau, Facture, Home Normal, and most recently Oak Editions, to share with you his favorite pieces, which happen to be from film. It’s a beautiful chronicle, with its own special plot and emotional journey: 

"For this mix I collected many fragments of music, dialogue and foley sounds which were taken directly from the films themselves and which I then arranged variously and carefully placed to construct some possible narrative. I always feel drawn to the most intimate moments within a film, most often I find it’s where the music and story hold the most emotion and poignancy. www.TheEchoSociety.com is a Los Angeles-based collective that gathers to create and share new sonic and visual art. Our third concert "Bloom," featured a 20 piece chamber ensemble performing original works for the first time, alongside special guest composers Amon Tobin and Ryat.

The LA-based ensemble, comprised of traditional instrumentation mixed with electronics, was created for the show and conducted by our very own Joe Trapanese. The sold-out night showcased visual design by Brady McGowan & Effixx, and sound & mastering by Satoshi Noguchi. Recorded live March 12th, 2015 at Vibiana in Los Angeles.

Glow

When I first heard Re, it put a huge smile on my face. I was fascinated by the delicate honesty in the recording. Sometimes one great idea can trigger many streams of thought - this was such a derivative, and I've worked to preserve the fragility of the original, while letting the electric guitar have a nice conversation with Nils's piano. Hope you enjoy it, and have as much fun as I had working on it - Sridhar
