Cryonics is Cool

First some background info...I wrote a song that is based off of Miguel Llobet's arrangement of "El Testament d'Amelia"  Which is a Catalan Folk song about a woman who dies of a broken heart. 

Basically her mother has been sleeping with her husband, and on the girls deathbed she recounts her last will and testament, and 'bequeaths' the husband to her mother, with the reason that she has had him for some time anyways. Here is a decent recording (in my opinion) of that song as arranged by Miguel Llobet for classical guitar:

Anyhow, I learned how to play this song myself after hearing it on Pandora, and I liked it so much that I wanted to do my own version, (also a good excuse for me to play with a bunch of the equipment at Offensive Sound Studio, the recording studio owned by my drummer and operated by the both of us.)

I decided to write a full band version with lyrics in English that followed the main melody and captured the same sense of sadness that the melody gave me, and the rest of it with kind of a modern rock sound, but a bit more subdued. I titled this version simply "Amelia" 

My version does not concern itself with Amelia's mama drama, or what specifically lead her to her deathbed other than a vague reference to a long suffered affliction, with death seen by her and those who surround her as its only cure. The song is entirely focused on her last mortal breath, in an attempt to capture the utter tragedy that is death, in music. Its what I thought of when I heard the original.

I wrote all the parts (based on the themes I already described) I play every instrument on the recording, Drums, Bass, Classical guitar, etc. and I also do all the vocals. I engineered the entire recording myself, I mixed it, and I mastered it, finishing on 11-06-2012  Three days, not bad at all (considering it took me till 2012 to release a record I recorded in 2008! I am working on getting better with procrastination.) 

Basically I did it all, except come up with the original song, which, being a traditional folk song is not subject to any copyright issues that I am aware of. I wanted to post the Lyrics here and also upload an mp3 of the recording for your listening pleasure. No charge. Here are the lyrics (best to read along while listening, of course):
