"Don't Leave the Light On," was written after watching news reports about deaths at the US-Mexico border. It is an acoustic number reminiscent of OK Computer era Radiohead, early Coldplay, and Damien Rice.

Don't Leave The Light On

I spent the summer of 2003 traveling around the country and listening to the White Stripes on repeat. Soon after that, I heard the Black Keys for the first time and listened to their music on repeat too. Those influences along with a childhood spent listening to CCR, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan led me to write "Out My Window" in early 2004. 

During the summer of 2020, I dug out an old 4-track recording of the song and decided to re-record it. This is the result.
