London Mayor Josh Morgan has announced and celebrated this year's recipients of the 2025 New Year's Honour List.

Award recipients are members of the London community honoured for their dedication and service.

This year's recipients received honours in categories of accessibility, the arts, diversity, and heritage, to name a few.

These remarkable individuals have made a long-standing impact on making our city a better place for all Londoners for years to come.

As a snap election has been called in Ontario about 16 months ahead of schedule, this has many questions among many voters. As many voters are concerned about key issues, including housing, affordability, infrastructure, and potential U.S. tariffs, MMJC news has the full breakdown of what it means for the province and the city of London.

In this episode, MMJC News sat down with Christopher Alcantara, a political science expert to explain the logic behind calling an early election and potential outcomes in depth. 

MMJC News attended the candidate's debate hosted by the Society of Graduate Students at Western University. The liberal candidate, Tariq Khan, the green party candidate, Carol Dyck, and the incumbent candidate, Terence Kernaghan of the NDP, took part in sharing their vision and their plans if elected. 

The candidates at the debate spoke with us following the debate to answer questions and dive deeper into their platforms on the key issues of affordability, infrastructure, and what could happen if U.S. tariffs are imposed on Canada. Therefore, this election will serve as a strong indication where Ontario is headed for the next four years.

London Mayor is facing public backlash after honouring a student who discovered a sewage spill in the Thames River. 

Pryia Smith, a Western University student out on a workplace discovered the glitch in their monitoring system that allowed sewage to leak undetected for at least four years. 

Bill Hughes, the city's general manager for operations said that leaks cannot be identified due to basic maintenance due to their massive scale. 

Dr. Hamesh McDonald, the professor at Western University supervising Smith leaked internal emails citing that it was as a result of inaction.
