After a raucous applause for the original material, we are thrilled to revisit the project with a riveting roster of remixers. David Orin has been a key figure in New York’s surging deep and melodic scene for years, and is also one of the nicest gents on the circuit. We couldn’t be happier to have him back on XYZ with his version of City Lights. Orin harnesses a revolving & bountiful bassline as the foundation, utilizing the original’s powerful synth stabs to elevate energy in pristine fashion.

Darksun - Cyberlove (Andrewboy Remix) (Short Edit)

'Pure product of the Neapolitan scene, Fabrizio Fattore turns up on Cosmocities Records with his third solo effort. Comprised of two originals on the A-side, and two bespoke revamps from Vince Watson on the flip, this new EP from Fattore draws a direct bridge betwixt the idyllic coastal flow of Italian boogie and straight out pulsating alien disco, sure to keep galaxies bouncing in good order.  Clocking in first is the vibey, otherworldly 'Lyle' - a cross-pollinated ode to the healing power of laid-back, 80s-informed house, bristling with shimmering Casio synthlines and Cuban jazz-friendly pianos and drums. Heliotropic by nature, Fattore's sound sits half-way loungey summer atmospherics and trailblazing post-kosmische jaunts. Then comes 'Island Goddess', casting more of a Sino-Caribbean flavoured spin on the dance floor with its obsessive miss-mash of processed chimes and prismatic webwork of steel pans.  On the B-side dwell two versions of 'Lyle' by true house legend Vince Watson, each of which deliver in their own right. If you’re after a proper classy, straightforward roller, bound to take dancers into a ravishingly deep but rousing trip, then the 'Watson Reshape' fits the bill like a glove, whereas the 'Balearic mix' does exactly what's written on the tin - ushering you into a sense-soothing haven, where keyboard-laden escapism and Afro-style rhythms meet the elegance of muted chamber music. Jordan Arts  joins the deep wave of ZEHN Records with Ying-Yang-like energies. His Song “Find A Way” strikes with the sheer force and tranquility of father ocean alike. Its vigorous drive is inhabited by the pure chill of the element of water. While its cataclysmic bass signals an unknown danger, the pure, soothing, flutes and synth lines loosen the tension.

“Find A Way” blooms anew, receiving additional interpretations by none but less Label heads Tube & Berger. The Remix arrives with a forceful drive and distant hints of melodies. Jordan´s vocals emerge from afar leading to a beautiful guitar riff, followed by a playful push and pull of energies in the build. The drop unchains his immense power yet again, accompanied by the beauty of the iconic refrain line.

Brandon Lee - Love Round

Crosstown Rebels present the centrepiece from the new solo album ‘Flourish’ by Damian Lazarus. On the album’s standout track ‘Into The Sun’, Lazarus is joined by vocalist Jem Cooke to create something beautiful amongst the chaos. Jem Cooke needs little introduction. Her features and song writing are a veritable who’s who - a discography that includes tracks with. Camelphat, Jamie Jones, Zero7, Hot Since 82, amongst many others.

Flourish is far from a box of functional DJ tools, in the same way as Damian’s debut album Smoke The Monster Out or the more worldly outings in his brace of albums with the Ancient Moons. It’s a personal, brave and varied body of work. It’s also the work of an artist who has grown over the ten years since his last solo album. Lazarus plays with nuances of texture, tempo and style to create a rich and dense album that takes us on an odyssey that is at times both dark and uplifting. Vocals of his own cast an intimate shadow over the album with those of his sole collaborator Jem Cooke offering a soothing balance amidst the madness.
