We don’t often invite people to run the FACT Mix gauntlet more than once – but if anyone gets to bend the rules, it’s Klock.

The Berlin titan last graced these parts back in 2009, filing a muscular FACT Mix entirely in keeping with his reputation as Berghain’s bosher-in-chief. The last five years have seen him consolidate his reputation as a standard bearer of refined, take-no-prisoners techno; his eight-hour-plus sets continue to shake Berghain’s foundations, and, although his output has slowed substantially, he’s still found time to knock out the occasional release on Ostgut Ton. His Klockworks label continues to tick along, too - new releases from fellow FACT mixer Trevino and Etapp Kyle are imminent, plus, if a forthcoming stint of “studio time” comes good, potentially more new music from Klock himself.

Those expecting pulverising 4×4 might be surprised by Klock’s sophomore FACT mix – a “deeper, dreamy” collection, bookended by two vintage ambient tracks and shot through with wonder. Unreleased Klockworks material features, as do cuts from the likes of Function, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Orgue Electronique and Lucy. The mix is a studio-recorded affair – something Klock sees as a very different kettle of fish to playing out: “Club mixes are obviously more spontaneous and capture the vibe of a specific night, while working in the studio offers other possibilities like re-editing tracks and layering tunes more precisely, which I’ve done a lot of that here.” Set your watches…

K.A.L.I.L. is one of these new Brazilian Electronic Music Artists that is really focused on good and clever techno. Close to big names as Victor Ruiz or Alex Stein he´s really welcome for the very first time to Fresco Records. 

He´s presenting us an EP that includes Laika and Flare, first one is a Tech House track with a really evolving melodies and an Epic Bassline, Flare have more German Techno flavour, deep basslines, effects and melodic parts. Just Amazing EP ¡

Axel Karakasis goes for a chrome-plated, streamlined approach, making sure that the thunderous low-end shatters the earth, and that his trademarked effects are constantly pushing things forward.&nbsp; Closing up, Landmark completely flips the script around, employing a sparse arrangement and clever manipulations of the original&#8217;s elements, while boasting an addictive bounce.</p>

Last November, we brought back the Four Points concept, which dates all the way back to 2008. The updated package contained a remix from Loco & Jam and original tracks from Belocca, Kellie Allen, and Sleepy & Boo. Now, we’re following that package up with Four Points II, with four fresh new tracks from some top producers from entirely new parts of the world.

Kicking things off is DJ T. with his remix of Sharam & Chance Caspian’s “Morning Glory,” originally from the 2016 album Retroactive. DJ T.’s mix is just what you’d expect from the legendary Berlin DJ. It’s bouncy and groovy, a nice builder that falls squarely into house territory. Khainz brings the heat with “Acrux,” a typically epic techno squelcher from the Luzern-based artist, and he proves once again that his chops in the studio are second-to-none. Miami up-and-comers Wolf Story are up next with “Time,” which harkens back to the progressive house-meets-vocals sound that is so classic Yoshitoshi. It’s one that routinely puts dance floors in a trance. And finally, our main man in Athens CJ Jeff serves up another beautiful vocal track with “So Far From Home,” which has received the edit treatment from Sharam. This package is diverse and dynamic with no shortage of peak moments. In other words, it’s quintessential Yoshi.

Four Points II

PREMIERE: Khainz - Acrux (Original Mix) [Yoshitoshi]

This week´s #AMFM show is the third and last hour of the set that I played at the @Great Wall Festival in Beijing China. This gig was the third in a row of my little Asia tour in May, which also brought me to Seoul and Tokyo the nights before. Great nights, and because of that and our flight schedule, we arrived in China with very little sleep. But who needs sleep when you have the Great Wall to visit. Our amazing host Yucheng took us to visit the wall prior to my gig at the festival, and this little sightseeing tour was quite fantastic. As we arrived at the festival, Carl Craig played a banging set on quite a stage that was designed in a historical fashion with an army of Chinese clay soldiers standing left and right and a DJ booth that was set in an old horse carriage. Now imagine all this, set right in front of beautiful mountains with parts of the Great Wall of China as a backdrop.
