You know how art can be a window into the artist's soul?  That a painter expresses themselves better with paint than with words?  That a novelist constructs a narrative with words that expresses a meaningful and true sentiment better than they could in just stating their thoughts directly.  Etc.  

Well, this ain't that.  At least, this bright and sunny pop song is not an accurate representation of how I feel on yet another grey and rainy Seattle day where I didn't get enough sleep so I didn't get enough done and the things I did do, I may not have done right.  

(I may have felt that the day I made this--but this is another track that has been languishing in The Vault for a little while, because I wanted to remix it a bit but the saved project file is woefully incomplete--so this share is the unremixed original.)  

I may be expressing my feelings more accurately in the tracks I'm working on at the moment, there's a lot of aggression and darkness in them...expressing fear, loss, loneliness, regret...  

...and while that can be a steady diet for those of us who are fans of The Cure or Joy Division, even they would like  a nice sorbet to cleanse the palate every so often.  

Consider this your cupful of cold raspberry yumminess.  

I took a pretty obvious sample, I mangled it into almost unrecognizable forms, and then reconstructed a song around it.  This song has a cheesily cheery pop bounce to it.  Think Joseph Gordon-Levitt happily marching down the street to a Hall & Oates song, and you'll get the vibe this song is going for...  

Is there a deeper meaning?  Hidden evidence of a subliminal darkness hiding behind this song's cheerily obvious presentation?  I guess that's up for you to decide for yourself.  

Don't ask me right now, I'm seeing darkness everywhere in everything.  ;)    

So, this is a purposeful choice to share such a sunny song on such an overcast day.  You're welcome???
