This piece was recorded quite a long time ego. I hadn't really listened to it in a couple years. It still brought years to my eyes. It was a very emotional time in my life. All of my pieces very recorded for a reason.  Sometimes for me and sometimes as a gift for others.

Four Darks In Red (2018) for trombone, percussion and contrabass

When a beautiful love ends ...
That we realize that the engine of our unions is no longer fueled, only by a flood of lies and complacency.
So, it's time to put aside their feelings of ownership of the other and allow each other the freedom to walk away.
If friendship and mutual respect are true then it is no longer a breakup, but a disunity.
There are no broken dishes, no bad words, no violence and no anger.
In theory it sounds smooth and easy. In reality, it is a deep sadness, a broken oath and a heavy feeling of loneliness.
We choose a music, a song, we listen to it repeatedly. We let our tears flow, which relieves our hearts and numbs our tortured minds.
Time goes by and the sadness slowly fades. We then keep the memory of a beautiful story, a slice of life with no more lies.
