Our next offering comes from the Highlands of Scotland as Beira presents her debut, “Scry”.

Beira is a producer from Inverness that draws influence from occultism, mythology, paganism and Wicca.

The blueprint and construction of this release is a little different than usual….

Beira came up with the idea for the “Scry” project whilst doing a deep dive through the Bricolage catalogue looking for inspiration.

Her idea was to take stems/samples from eight different producers on the label and rework them into and alongside some of her own 'WIP' productions that she had been struggling to find further motivation for.

Adding these extra potions to an already simmering cauldron of her own sounds and breathing new life into what she describes as a "dormant elixir".

The result is a fascinating collections of disintegrated and mercurial soundscapes that conjure up all manner of moods but also leave room for the imagination. Atmosphere and woven textures take precedence in the process.

The more ambient numbers that begin the EP bring a raw and abstract tension before the pace picks up and we're introduced to some dark and dubby, bass driven, rhythmic tracks. Hacked apart beats that get stitched back together and swirled around. The surreal and otherworldly tension remains in the second half but now with a late night fire burning and an invitation to dance around it.

There's a strong nod to feminism and Scottish mythology throughout that tells a tale of Witchcraft and days gone by. The perfect soundtrack for the Halloween season.

"Scry" melts, bubbles, froths and crackles. It's a beguiling record from a nascent producer that gives us a peek into the past and the present. Into the potential that's yet to come. Into the future. Into oneself. Thus, to scry.

This cassette holds a recording from the celebration of Sørfinnset skole/the nord land 20 year anniversary outdoor party in 2023. Dj sets by Arthur (Hard Wax/Open Ground), Sanj (SASUSU Radio), Muggen (Kabelvogue), DJ Sattam (SASUSU Radio) and Vera Dvale. Everything spiced up with curious surprises of things going on at a party by the fjord throughout an evening like this. The cassette is an 90 minute raw edit of the 8 hour long session mastered into its lively sonic presence by amazing Tapes.

This recording will teleport you straight there; dance along the shore or sit down next to the bonfire. Get ready to be embraced by the light from the eternal midnight sun. (Rewind!)

The release is honoring everyone involved in and at the party. We celebrate Sørfinnset skole/the nord land for their inspiring endurance and dedication, having kept up the good work for all these years. Yet they are still going strong and the continuations of its goings-ons are projected into the forever. 

2019 was the first outdoor Summer party where Kabelvouge and Sørfinnset skole / the nord land collaborated and with this continued the legacy of this annual summertradition in the village of Sørfinnset. Everyone is invited, the whole village, friends and family to join a bonfire party where food, music and good times are all prefectly set in motion. This is done with the greatest support from Tiger Milk - the one and only, incredible car soundsystem of SASUSU RADIO (@sss-special498568536). 

Sørfinnset skole / the nord land is a contemporary art project based on a place specific, socially engaged learning process, devoted to collective living, making and thinking. The collective has an emphasis on dialogue, long term commitment, hospitality and an experimental form of value production which connects different traditions and experiences. It is a forever lasting work started in 2003, with focus on relationships with nature, knowledge exchange and small-scale architecture in a broad understanding of aesthetics and ecological realisms. Sørfinnset skole / the nord land has since the beginning, its base in Sørfinnset, a village with 70 inhabitants located in northern Norway. 

Kabelvogue - en klubb for alle (a club for everyone) is a collaborative DIY club initiative which started when Sanj, Muggen and Karolin all lived in the town of Kabelvåg, Lofoten. The initiative is still living, but now rooted with an expanding anchor in northern Norway. Its home is held in a collective spirit which is their shared interests in music, listening and DIY club culture. Since its inaguration in 2019, Kabelvogue has invited and hosted guests from near and far, presenting experimental live concerts, listening sessions and kept dance floors busy, sometimes also streaming special sessions across the www. Wherever and whenever, always with the intention of creating a place for ‘Good Vibes, Tunes and Tenderness’.

One Year of Perspektif - VA

A decade is a long pause… how the world has changed since…

Longtime friends and collaborators, iconic ambient composer William Basinski and sound artist/composer Richard Chartier return to LINE with 'Aurora Terminalis', their first new work together since 2015’s ‘Divertissement’ LP (Important Records, US).

From an unexpected sudden burst of sound jaggedly spiraling outward, the tumult fades and shockwaves slide into lulling haze of a melody. Background nuance—nearly imperceptible—and foreground romanticism ripple near each others’ edges. Then, rhythmic and liquid, an erratic drifting over a clouded void... an 'un-still' life... a slow tracing.

'Aurora Terminalis'… a fading gauzy signal for a finality.

Basinski and Chartier have previously released two collaborative works on LINE; Aurora Liminalis (2013) and Untitled 1-3 (2008, an expanded reissue of 'Untitled' originally on Spekk, Japan, 2004), as well as the archival Bandcamp exclusive 'Something from the Pink House' a live improvisation recorded in 2004.

William Basinski's archival album 'The Clocktower at the Beach (1979)' was released on LINE in 2023.
