In November of 2013, Desert Hearts had their One Year Anniversary. 
They've accomplished an unbelievable amount in that short year of life. 
The three Hearts events I've been to are solidly in a short list of the most fun and best produced events that I've ever been to, with some of the most amazing music and people that I've been lucky enough to be around.

Desert Hearts One Year Anniversary

On April 8th 2022, the Unicorns hit the Globe theater. A great time was had by all! But I neglected to hit record the second time on the recorder and it just sat there blinking all night. 
As a test drive of my new DJ controller, I decided to record what I played that night. . . minus one track that didn't really flow. 
I've been neglecting soundcloud for a long time. Hopefully this is the start of new consistent updates!

Tasty Noodles is as unplanned and unscheduled as possible! 
None of my noodles sets have any pre-planning, and I don't even know - or want to know! - when or how much I'll be playing. We usually only figure out one or two DJs in advance as we go. All the more musically adventurous!

Not long after I played my Saturday night set, I succumbed to sleepiness and got some rest while our other DJs held it down. But when light started to creep back in, Reavis needed a break and I was summoned back to bring in the sun. We couldn't be at Black Rock City physically this year, but a lot of people put in a lot of different than usual work to put together a virtual version. Charlie represented from Wednesday on as we always do, and my music was coming off of a virtual Charlie not long before the virtual man burned!

A Bit Shadey

Starting in the misty past of the last century, Erik was taken to a party that he rather enjoyed, which started a habit of having way too much fun dancing to really loud music in unlikely places. Not too long after that first party, he had his own sound system, and carted it all over the deserts, forests and warehouses of southern california to help give other people loud music to dance to. While doing that, he noticed that DJs were having a lot of fun, and figured he should give it a shot. More than a decade after first getting behind the decks, he's still at it, with most of what he plays now falling somewhere in the giant and wonderful family tree of House music. Exactly which branch depends on where and when, but basslines are always key, funk is essential, and a little melody now and then never hurt anyone.
