In collaboration with 6-year-old lyricist, Jay Wilson, "The Fox" is a whimsical, dream-like sequence with a surprise plot twist.

The Fox

One lazy afternoon, a group of friends were gathered in a living room, instruments scattered around. Amidst the social chatter and laughter, one note began to play. Underneath the noise, subtly at first and gradually quieting the conversation, inviting the others to join its simple call. 

Guitar strums. Light brushes on a snare. Gentle treading on a banjo. Horns begin to swell. And all is quiet again. 

I invite you to this afternoon.

My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary on 6.28.24 and this song was a part of their wedding ceremony back in 1974. I did a little loose interpretation of it as a gift and wanted to share with anyone else that may want to listen.
