Erin Hopes is an artist born and raised in the outskirts of Glasgow, in what’s most commonly known as the shire. Hopes spent her early years exploring and enjoying the Glasgow club scene where she eventually touched base in London to study fine art at the Chelsea College of Arts(ual). The interdisciplinary artist became most keen on the element of sound during her final years of university where she realised that the process was like a rabbit hole, waiting for anyone to dive into. She is captivated by the process of making and releasing music, in engaging with her audience and fellow artists. She now finds herself in not only a vulnerable, yet powerful position.

erin hopes is a glasgow born and based artist who has been producing for 2 years now. hopes’ likes the conceptual side of things, for example her lp “infinity is vast” released on the infamous black holes label was inspired by george orwell’s 1984, the occult and space time. her work is both emotional and raw. in her mixing she is playful and mischievous, influenced by her love for her favourite genre, gabber. but there is no sign of gabber in this mix, it is something different from her usual route as she experiments with more trancey sounds.

erin hopes at her core is political and philosophical, observing society whilst developing her own theisis. although this at first is not obvious, as she has adopted a ditsy, party girl, paris hilton-esk persona to achieve her goals and captivate her audience, demanding they’re full attention with her mischievous ways. in her mixing, she is very diverse, constructing a range of styles in which she crafts to her own pleasing, mostly depending on her mood at the time, which can be totally polar opposing. from this, hopes’ curates contrasting sounds which exudes harshness and softness, taking you on an emotional rollercoaster

We are more than happy to announce our KITSCHCAST001 series starting with Erin Hopes, a highly skilled DJ, producer, and label manager from Glasgow, Scotland. 

Erin Hopes is an artist who has been producing and DJing for two years now. She pulls her influence from her early years studying BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. It was her final year of university that captivated Hopes into the rabbit hole that is sound. She engulfed herself in music, drawing from her early years of raving, and from this, she attempts to transcend the elements of our experience.

Erin Hopes is renowned for her tracks, which, despite their fast-paced 160 bpm realms, manage to convey a real sense of space. Her creations weave wonderful, dreamy, and ethereal atmospheres that transport listeners on a spatial journey filled with depth and emotions. In 2023, Erin founded the label MANIAC BB, where she created a platform for like-minded underground artists to celebrate their differences, beauty, and uniqueness.

For KITSCHCAST001, Erin delivered a trancey, energizing set with hard beats, spacey emotions, and some gabba parts, featuring a dark but highly passionate and driving rhythm.
