I like the dark, driving feel to this one. The humming adds a nice touch, too.

I'm digging the "middle ages" feel to the melody on this one :)

Ambitious to weave that word into your chorus. Loving the sound on the guitar, lovely deeptone. 

Really well done getting the week's prompt into the chorus. And an ominous sound to the song, reflecting the lyrics well.

So clever! I love the pause before the inevitable ...... antidisestablishmentarianism. It just emphasises the ridiculous word!

Major props for using this prompt, and truly working it into something memorable. Great dig into history!

When I was in France with just a guitar I had tentatively planned to get back home and write and record a song with 'as many instruments as i could' instead of the guitar+midi controller approach. This was the one, I guess.


It takes a lot to make me mad

Song a Week 2023 Week 50 - Wooden Hearts

This incredibly exciting track was born from collaboration with my dear friend Kyle Walz. I'm still in the state of awe with the final product. He magically transformed an 8 bar piano progression into this track full of energy and excitement. Thank you, Kyle. I'm looking forward to more collaborations in the near future. I wanna learn as much as I can from you. Particularly, the amazing box you make musical magic with. I wanna learn more of that, jaja!

Part 1 - Interstellar Journey

This is brand new, so I’ll be editing it for awhile.  I’m also playing around with a version in 3/4 time.  Happy I had the time to do this take to share with Song A Week!

We had nothing to lose cause we didn’t know what we had
And riding by the lake wasn’t so bad

There was a full moon rising over the lake
It was as orange as a tiger, burning bright
It was larger than any cauldron of witch’s brew
And there was nothing in the way of the view

I look up and see the moon in the sky
It’s stark white and the size of a dime

Forgiven

The fifth spirit Of Light and Darkness tells the story of a little pathway over the mountainside whose fertile grounds allowed a beautiful rose to grow. Inadvertently, the pathway couldn't keep up with the flower needs, and so the flower dried up and died. Souls like these might be condemned to grief their way into the hereafter. Unless they let go and move on. Pain is inevitable, suffering, in contrast, is optional.
