Deeply rooted in the Detroit music scene, Erno The Inferno embodies the varied styles of music the city is known to produce. Dabbling in nothing and involved with everything ETI has been DJing for 10 years but also produces. His DJ sets are like disco and classic house having a love affair with techno. His love of dance music comes through as he spans nearly 4 decades of music. The backbone is funk but is adapted to modern day dance music to create a continuous experience, psychedelic even. ETI is a forefront member of Tour Detroit, a legendary summer party series. Also a music collector, he co-hosts a weekly straight vinyl, crate digging night called Slow Jams, which is 5 years and running.

Rai is a vocalist and songwriter who began a love affair with deep house after her vocal contributions with many-an-electronic producer began to pile up. Most noteably: Brazialian producer HNQO (“As I See” and “City Lights”) and UK producer Leigh D Oliver (“Girl From the D”). Realizing she had a very diverse mix of DJ worthy original material, she acquired a grimy set of CDJ 200s and in about 6 months was playing gigs around Detroit, singing her original tracks live. Her eclectic music background aids a refreshingly naïve sensibility to her DJ style— far from local trends. While still a songwriter in the folk country variety, Rai finds DJing to be another highly enjoyable extension of her diverse interests and boundless creativity.

Erno and Rai met about 2013 at one of Rai’s first gigs at New Dodge Lounge in Hamtramck. This led to a collaboration called “Howl”. Throughout the next few years the duo would, for the love of the sport, end up tag teaming at various events. Because of the great response whenever they were together, in 2014 they decided to team up officially and give it a name. Like a remixed version of themselves, Reno speaks to their expansive and “far away” approach as artists, and a fitting description of their landscape of influences.
