As this track is designed to be played in-game through a music disc, it took on a dance vibe, which players may enjoy! It's entirely based on my own styles, with little direct influence from the prior primary sources.

G03C

Lena Raine's philosophy, with a focus on softness and quietness, took control of this track. I intentionally pushed myself to embrace the power of silence, and though I couldn't push myself as much as I'd prefer, compared to my previous tracks, I have achieved my goal.

Only after I had finished this track did I realize it's subconscious inspiration: C418's remix of "Atempause". I loved their rendition of the track. It had been a few months since I had last heard it, so I unfortunately didn't make the connection as soon as I'd like.

Inferred Dreams

Essentially being a remix of Lena Raine's "Resurrections", this track aims to closely recreate the vibe and structure of Celeste. What better way to accomplish that, than to steal!?

I'm quite proud of how I mixed the styles of Lena Raine, C418, and my own while sticking to a familiar sound. What you don't hear are the tens of demos I had unsuccessfully produced before this.

Of course, without using Resurrections as inspiration, this track would be nothing. Thank you, Lena Raine, for releasing such an amazing song, and teaching others how it was composed.

Aurum Berry

My longest individual track to date. The title is inspired by the journey I personally took during production: to be confident — to trust myself. I had wanted to produce a ten-minute-long song since the start of Momentum Deceived's production, yet I didn't believe that I could.

One would believe that longer, simple songs would be easy to make. "There's not much there; how hard could it be?" But it's exactly the opposite. Because of the track's simplicity, there's less to work with. Less to express yourself through. It took me hours and hundreds of revisions before I felt content with the track.

Trust Yourself

The focus for this track is realism. I had started to source, and even create, sample libraries based on physical instruments. Prior to this song's creation, I only used synthesized instruments.

I was scared to try anything more. I didn't believe that I could pull off realistic sounding instrumentation. And yet, through trial and error, many revisions, and lots of manual automation, I believe I've done it.

Amphitrite

A track that was almost entirely produced and mastered in a single day. It doesn't exactly follow the styles of Lena Raine or C418, and was rather made as I went.

Despite its extremely short production time, and the fact that it was rushed, I still enjoy the end result quite a bit! It's a unique track in the album, almost serving as a transition between my older style (as seen in G03C) and the rest of the album.

Sleeping

A short and simple piano piece featuring various motifs from the tracks prior. This almost didn't make the cut due to an unexpected deadline, yet I was able to sneak it in! I'm glad, because despite its simplicity, it's a great closer for the album.

Inner Self-Realization

Created for the seventh OST Composing Jam​, this track features drawn-out strings paired with a massive acoustic piano to achieve an ethereal vibe. Combined with various electronic soundscapes and an epic percussive finale, I hope this song successfully fits the event's theme.

This track has been designed as two parts, one for a general "wonder" stage of the story, and the other being "discovery". I attempted to incorporate feelings of anxiety and uncertainty, especially in the latter half. I also wanted to hint at the highs and lows of life with a few motifs. Living in our own worlds, we are not perfect, and there is much left undiscovered.

The theme of the jam reminded me of Celeste, especially Farewell's chapter, so I included some references to Lena Raine's soundtrack. I also leaned heavily into Chris Christodoulou's synth and percussion style to bring together some of my favorite works. Since this would theoretically be part of a whole game, I set up some motifs that could be used in future/prior tracks.

Deferred Dreams

Control

This track was produced with the idea of a boss battle in mind. Integrating a new motif, structure was a priority, to set a stage for future tracks in this style.

Similitude Bluff

Originally intended for use in a game jam, this track meshes electronic ambiance with daunting acoustic foley. Designed to play between two complex songs during gameplay, it was important to give the player some time to focus, while bridging the gap between the other songs.

Little Judicious

This track is meant to bring some positivity and motivation to the player. While this was produced for a game jam project that was cancelled, I'm still very happy with how this track turned out.

Suffocation Through a Philter

Designed to be played as the first track of an unreleased game jam project. The jam's theme was "folk", which inspired me to compose something more acoustic and traditional. This was quite an unfamiliar task for me, since my prior works have consisted primarily of electronic synths and pads.

Ante Meridiem

This track would ideally be placed after a high-stress, chaotic, intense chapter of the game. Similar to chapter four of Celeste, this is meant to be a calmer, relaxing track to go with a peaceful environment.

I personally envision a vast rolling plains at dusk, with little to no critters contributing to the soundscape. Only windmills are within view. The player is determined to continue their journey, despite the pain they've just experienced.

Sight-Seeing Turbines

Featuring an ominous piano in reverse, this track aims to innovate within my personal musical style. As a culmination of everything I've learned thus far, I hope that this track can prove my ability!

Gloom

Inspired by chapter five of Celeste, I attempted to create a mysterious, ambient drone. The percussion was difficult to mix, due to its booming hard-hitting nature.

Beyond the Silvered Glass

Created for the first Minecraft Music Pack Jam to be heard in the Basalt Deltas, I tried to find a middle-ground between Lena Raine's ambient nether tracks and the dangerous, hostile environment found in the biome.

In order to stand alongside Minecraft's existing nether tracks, I incorporated a leitmotif often heard in them, while also brining in one of Lena Raine's newer motifs which fit the vibe. The first motif, heard in "So Below", is a descending piano piece which carries you throughout the track. In the latter half of the track, I brought in melodies heard in "Deeper", a track that plays in another hostile environment in the game.

Though Minecraft's nether tracks tend to lean towards ambiance, the Basalt Deltas are a very dangerous biome to traverse, which has been represented in the track's aggressive bass-line. Yet still, there had been a large focus on ambiance through the track's droning sub-bass and massive instruments during its development.
