Spirah & Erothyme - The Pattern

A few nights ago I took a moment to soak my eyes in the Moon's glow, and before I knew it, I was deeply invigorated and this song was practically writing itself. I've been existing nocturnally since then, dialing in countless thousands of digital brushstrokes to this silver stereophonic rainbow. I included some soul-soothing vocals and violin recordings from Madelion Moondrop﻿, as well as some of my own vocals, and a whole lot of delicate percussion made from sounds recorded in the mountains here in Colorado.

This piece got me thinking about musical space in a very interesting way. I spent a good portion of the process rhythmically slicing up some of the atmospheric and textural layers to interact in various ways with the percussion, envisioning the percussion as tree limbs and the diced up chords as the beams of iridescent moonlight that they split.

This morning, at the same moment I was listening to the finished file for the first time, the sun began coming over the horizon. That kind of thing has a way of putting a smile on my face.

Naturally, it seems very fitting to me that I should make it available to you while the Moon is in the phase that she's in, since I feel that for best results, one should consider listening while appreciating her ethereal splendor. :)

Here is a beautiful new tune which came into being quite spontaneously like a flash of noetic lightning in the wake of some beautifully serene experiences in Seattle and the Cascade mountains.

It was a lot of fun and a real honor to feature vocal contributions from my friends Theo and Amma (Entheo - https://soundcloud.com/entheo), as well as Theo's guitar and a few percussive samples from my friend Jules O'Keefe.

I haven't given out a new free track in a while, and I think this is a breakthrough and a new direction for me, so I am going out on a limb and allowing this tune to spread how it may, in good faith that it will touch as many lives as possible.
