It was a Wednesday night
and the Open Mic
had just begun.
Mark was up
and he hadn't quite finished
his very first song.

And the bar was buzzing
'cos the night
had so much fun in store.
When the relative peace
was shattered
by what came through the door.

with a gaping maw
and blood-shot eyes.
Legs as stout
as an English oak
and fur the colour
of dirty smoke.

It booled along to the
end of the bar and
caused a stir,
then bounded back to
the startled front
and gave a grrrrr!

And the panic

when it became clear
we were sharing the

with a pretty mad bear.
