This has been a challenging and difficult year for all of us. I have missed touring and sharing moments with people in different parts of the world. But during this period, I have valued spending time in the studio and sharing my work with you through WIP. To finish 2020, WIP04 contains two more positive and energetic tracks I made recently. ‘Pulse’ gives me a feeling of traveling and transporting far away, and with ‘Quartal’ I was returning to some ideas that come from my Jazz roots. Thanks for your support of WIP, it has been a great source of encouragement for me. I hope you enjoy them and stay safe. Wata 

今年は私たちにとって本当に困難な一年でした。個人的には、3月以降ツアーはなく、例年の様に世界の色々な場所で沢山の人々と時間を共有したりすることができなかったのは残念でしたが、この間、スタジオで制作に多くの時間を費やすことができ、WIPの作品を通して会えない皆さんと音楽を共有することを大切しようと動いていました。2020年の締めくくりのリリース、WIP04にはポジティブでエネルギッシュな方向性のフロアトラックが2曲収録されています。Pulseは遠い彼方へタイムトリップをしているようなイメージ、Quartalでは自分のルーツであるJazzに由来するアイデアをベースにしています。いつもWIPをサポートしてくれてるみんなありがとう。年末も安全にお過ごしください。Wata

It Was Wrong From The Beginning

In 2022 I have finally been able to start travelling and playing outside Japan again. It has been incredibly positive being able to see friends old and new, and share my music with audiences around the world. Now I am happy to be able present my new WIP release, which includes two tracks I have been playing on my recent tours. French-born, Tbilisi-based Ina Kacz is a DJ and producer whose vision far exceeds the limitations of a genre, including one as multi-faceted as techno. Her shape-shifting sets span a wide spectrum of styles and sub-divisions, flourishing somewhere at the junction of acid-drenched cycloramas, chiselled ambient breaks, twilight dubs and chrome-coated industrialism. With her exquisitely fine touch and impeccable understanding of the groove, the French artist pulls out a two-hour jaunt into her pulsating headspace, packed to the rafters with streamlined style collision, inch-perfectly engineered plot twists and hair-raising momentums.

Most of you know me as a DJ deeply rooted in the hard techno scene — but beyond the decks, I spend my days as a DevOps and AI engineer. kernel panic is my new side project, born out of the intersection between code and sound.

During the week, I don’t always have the time to perfect my production skills — so I embraced the chaos. This EP is the result of experimenting with tools I use in tech, applied in a way they were never meant to be. It’s raw, noisy, unstable — just like a real kernel panic.
