This describes a cheerful person going about their work with love and vigour and good cheer. This piece of music was originally written in 1990. I tried recording it a number of times in different ways and it never 'felt right' until this group attempted it. The magic moment was when I stumbled across the 6 over 4 drum pattern.

This piece of music goes through a number of phases, as does the year. 

The end 4 part guitar sustained harmonies show a youth spent listening to too much Brian Eno.

I like asymmetrical timings [this being 7/8] and I like playing acoustic guiatar. This is the first time I have used both in a composition.

This piece was for a David Bowie compilation cover album. The project fell through but this is what Luminous recorded for the project. We deliberately stayed away for the big hits and tackled one of the lesser known, but still quite challenging pieces. Yes we used lotsa guitars. That's who we are. Mike Gorman 6 and 12 string guitars, Errol Guitars and guitar synth. Eliot McGann Orchestration and stuff.

Everyone should have a banger in their musical arsenal.

A 'banger' in local parlance seems to have come from the term “head-banger”, and has taken on its own meaning to loosely mean a song that's really, really good.
or
A banger is a song you could put on at a house party and everyone would ‘lose their shit’. Of course, you have to be aware of the demographics and tastes of the partygoers, so a banger for one crowd may not be for another.

Musician - Ever seen ‘Spinal Tap? Most of that has happened to me – except the gnomes

Both have the power to effect people’s lives in a profound manner.
