On 20th March 2021, I was invited to play another vinyl set for LOCKDOWNFM.LIVE - HOUSE SESSIONS 06 and I decided to call it “ARETHA” 

I played from 18:00 - 19:00 (GMT) and it is an uplifting selection, of feel good tracks. The first quarter of this set is dedicated to the late, Aretha Franklin, RIP, the undisputed Queen of Soul and this set, is peppered with her amazing voice, as well as, other amazing vocalists.

I really enjoyed mixing this vinyl set, live on lockdownfm.live and I really hope you enjoy it too! I almost forgot, I spoke on the mic at the end. lockdownfm.live is bringing people together through music and dance 💃🕺🏾💃🏾🕺

Being able to connect with music lovers from home is so amazing. You're no longer alone and you can share your passion. 

I’ve recently had some dark days, where I’ve not been able to reach out to my family or my dearest friends. I couldn’t even do the things that make me HAPPY! I couldn’t play or listen to music. This has been a very difficult period for me and I’ve found it so hard to speak out. 

As part of my mindfulness, I try do as many things that I can, that make me happy and mixing music certainly does that. I woke up today and realised it was June 21st, the Summer Solstice, the longest day. With such an auspicious day and to make myself happy, I tried to mix a few tracks. Today was a good day … I felt like I was living and breathing this mix. For me, mixing is a deeply spiritual thing, the ultimate connection with music.

Doing this mix today, has somehow helped to defragment my mind. This is one of the best days I’ve had for a long time and Thank you to everyone that reached out to me. 🙏🏾

This set is my last UK performance until I fly out to Amsterdam, for ADE 2022, on 19-OCT-2022.

ADE - AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT, is the largest global electronic music event in the world. All roads in the music industry converge in Amsterdam from 19th to 23rd October 2022

I have 3 official gigs with ADE and an additional independent gig, so I’m going to be busy.

The Amsterdam cruise by Starboard Boats, showed the passengers, the city they love in absolute luxury and style. Plus there was a free bar! Relax as you float along the city’s UNESCO-listed canals.

The Rhythm Doctor -  Live at Tonic, Bognor, 15th August 1992.

The Rhythm Doctor had a residency and played every week at Tonic , in Bognor Regis on the South Coast. This is a mix originally on a cassette and it was digitised by my good friend Andy Campbell-Critchley, who had the foresight to preserve this amazing mix. 

My friends and I have listened to this mix 100s of times collectively and there are some really special moments in this mix, When you listen to it, please bear in mind, it was done in 1992 and I have to say some of the mixing is first class and it's all done on vinyl, so you must truly appreciate what this guy is doing! 

This is a LIVE set which fortunately includes the crowd, which takes this mix to another level and then there's the amazing MC. For me, this is as close to perfection that you can get.

This mix inspired me and my friends to buy two copies of the same track and experiment with the sounds, phasing, double beating  and repeating. These days you can do all of this with a digital effects and although great' it simply does not have the same sound or effect as two vinyl tracks played together to create that effect.
