Two synths running the same sequence, fed to the highpass and lowpass inputs of a Steiner Synthacon filter clone as the cutoff is swept up and down.  It works like a kind of frequency-dependent crossfader.

A very rough outline of a minimal techno track, done entirely on a Korg Electribe ER-1 with only its on-board delay.  I was just muting and unmuting parts on the fly as I let the recorder run.

Uses a repeating chord stab from the MS2000R, processed through a modified Digitech PDS1002 delay pedal with its delay time modulated by a bench signal generator, then through the delay and chorusing on a Korg EA-1, then buckets of reverb off the mixing desk.

I did this about ten years ago with flinger (a script around the speech synthesizer festival) and a couple of softsynths I wrote.  Writing an XML file with each syllable of the lyrics meant it took the better part of a day just for what you hear in this clip, and I didn't do much more on it.
