The time has come

I did this track for a game jam and the 2 themes I followed were to write something that reminds of the picture used on the cover. Also, is to use soundfonts from video games and the piano and music box I used is from Pokémon Black and White 2.

Chilling By The Water

On the Shores of a Faraway Lake

This music was composed to represent the softness, nature, beauty of a sober and balanced landscape, with an Asian cultural touch in the melodies, rhythms and accompaniments. It remains Westernized because it is above all my personal perception of the photo, and my feeling as a French amateur of Japanese animation. There are therefore many artistic influences, and a deep desire to give birth in the listener's mind to a melancholy as pleasant as it is delicate, fragile and peaceful.

The choice of instruments, between woodwinds, strings and percussive instruments, are in my opinion representative of the elements making up the image: forest, water and human construction. The important thing is to seek an osmosis between the natural and the artificial, between the organic and the mineral. The whole must merge into a coherent whole, where the humanity residing in its heart is integrated by giving it all its grandeur.

My musical composition is quite long, because it likes to take its time to unfold through subtile variations in timbre, like a wind that barely moves the branches of the trees. I deeply hope you'll like it.

Cette musique a été composée pour représenter la douceur, la nature, la beauté d'un paysage sobre et équilibré, avec une touche culturelle asiatique dans les mélodies, les rythmes et les accompagnements. Elle reste occidentalisée car elle est avant tout ma perception personnelle de la photo, et mon ressenti d'amateur français d'animation japonaise. Il y a donc de nombreuses influences artistiques, et une envie profonde de faire naître dans l'esprit de l'auditeur une mélancolie aussi agréable que délicate, fragile et paisible.

Le choix des instruments, entre bois, cordes et instruments à percussion, sont à mon sens représentatifs des éléments composant l'image : forêt, eau et construction humaine. L'important est de rechercher une osmose entre le naturel et l'artificiel, entre l'organique et le minéral. L'ensemble doit se fondre dans un tout cohérent, où l'humanité résidant en son cœur s'intègre en lui donnant toute sa grandeur.

Ma composition musicale est assez longue, car elle aime prendre son temps pour se déployer à travers de subtiles variations de timbre, comme un vent qui fait à peine bouger les branches des arbres. J'espère sincèrement que vous l'aimerez.
