This is a monthly show on Cashmere Radio in Berlin called Matatu, hosted by Alai K (https://soundcloud.com/alai-k) and Ervin Madaha. Matatu is a public bus in Kenya and the name represents the show as a journey through different styles of music, also from different times. Usually the focus is African music but sometimes can vary also out of this category. And we sometimes have guest artists too who come on the show.

This was a Matatu show with a bit of a carnival touch... with some lusophone african music from Cape Verde then touching into Afro Brazilian acts such as Obina Shok with a bit of some Surinamese Funk and not forgetting some Congolese Swahili Classics from Lady Isa.

Matatu show on Cashmere radio, with co-host Alai K. This one sets off with sounds Chimurenga from Hallelujah Chicken Run Band, then Simigwa Soca and other classic names as Manu Dibango and Penny Penny. The closing gets more house-y as the extra bit for the show. Aired on 19.04.25

Matatu 07|25 Summer @ Cashmere Radio

Matatu this time comes with a special guest, Max Doblhoff, an Austrian musician, DJ and Producer who is also based in Kenya. He takes on such a beautiful journey of music from traditional sounds of the giriama to downtempo interpretations. He also talks about his project Music from East Africa where he showcases different traditional sounds from Kenya and other parts of East Africa. This show was aired on 04.10.25.
