Oldies

The Oric Atmos is my first computer, I would like to try to compose some music for it. A kind of tribute :)

This is my first chiptune attempt that was mainly to test my workflow to be able to release some music for the Oric.

I have used :
- Vortex tracker under Wine : https://bulba.untergrund.net/vortex_e.htm
- Ay_Emul (Linux native) to convert the result from .ay to .ym : https://bulba.untergrund.net/emulator_e.htm
- The .ym was then converted to mym and compile into an Oric disk image with the Oric SDK (http://osdk.defence-force.org/) and specifically with http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/public/oric/mym_player/
- The disk image was then launched into the Oricutron emulator : https://github.com/pete-gordon/oricutron and recorded into Ardour

The image was also generated through the Oric SDK (pictconv).

This one was created on Lmms, exported on Ardour for the mixing and the effects. The "mastering" was done on Audacity.

I'm using some soundfonts from the E-mu Emax II on Polyphone.

Librazik Linux and kxstudio were used.

As I'm very bad designer without money, my daughter skills were used once again ! :D

This track was brought to life by a single synthesizer (an E-mu Proteus 1 released in 1989) and Ardour on Librazik.
To stay in tune with the synth's age, the artwork was created with POV-Ray (an old school 3D raytracer that I was using in the early nineties).
